This weekend I'm going to a WWII themed concert with big band/swing music.

I'd really like to wear my hair up in like a pinup style, I didn't know if any of you had any tutorials you've seen that you've used or if you have any tips? my hair is about shoulder length and naturally wavy/curly.

i need new curtains for the living room. the previous ones were very thin linen, white, floor length. i'd like to keep with the sheer, floor length, & white/off-white/very light theme. it would be really awesome to find some with an aspen bark pattern. i'm open to any nature theme, except for flowers. suggestions on where to look? so far i've checked target, ikea, & overstock.

So, I've got fine lines on my forehead that I'm trying to combat. Was looking into fillers, but perhaps a microdermabrasion or chemical peel could do the trick.

Do any of you ladies have experience with microdermabrasion or skin peels? Will these treatments soften fine lines?

Is it worth it to try this before looking into fillers?

^^^ Damn wish I had seen this yesterday. JC Penny was having a huge sale on curtains. I got $100 curtains for $40!

^ Have you tried just using a sugar scrub and facial mask regularly?

go to JC Pennys! They have the best selection and all the curtains are very reasonably priced. I was amazed how many curtains they had there and if they don't have the color or style you want, they can order it and ship it to the store for free.

Have never tried a facial mask. What will that do? And what should I look for?

I used to wash my face with basic body wash or bar soap, up until about a month or two ago. Then my friend gave me her Neutrogena pink grapefruit skin scrub. I use that once a week.

Yeah, there's a lot of room for improvement with my skincare regimen. My skin is clear, but now there are fine lines that need to go away.

Another trick if you're handy with hemming at all is to buy bedsheets you like and convert them into curtains.

Like these curtains are sheets from IKEA:

^ Facial masks just help peel away old, dead skin and firm up your skin. You have to use it pretty much daily though to get the full effect. Personally I don't really care about lines in my skin so I'm really bad about using my facial mask

^ those are my curtains i have in my guest bedroom. they're from IKEA. and they're actually curtains not bedsheets. but IKEA has the whole "measure and cut and then iron/glue the seam"

it's funny - i follow that blog and when they posted the pictures, i commented on their blog about what paint color they used because i was looking to paint my guest bedroom gray to compliment the curtains

Is it better to get a microdermabrasion? Or will a peel give me the same results, but at a better price? I'm all about saving a buck.

^^ Well I mean you can pick up a facial mask at the store for like $5 or make one at home using common household ingredients so you might as well try that first

microdermabrasion is good if you've never done this stuff before....then you can continue with home regimens

it takes off all that gunk that could be still sitting in that dead layer of skin

Thanks for the feedback. I'll schedule a microdermabrasion soon. Any recommendations of at-home exfoliants/scrubs/masks is highly appreciated.

^ Thank you! Planning to get one tomorrow.

Also, does anyone have any experience with Rocket Dog heels? They're on ideeli today and I kind of want these:

Are they typically comfy? I have their flats, which are great, but haven't tried their heels. Def want something I can walk in.

They're only 30 bucks and they look uber comfy.

Was drooling over the L.A.M.B. shoes, but those are more expensive ... and less work appropriate. It's hard to justify buying shoes that are only good for nightclubs when I no longer frequent nightclubs.

I think the Rocket Dogs would be good for work.

^^ And yeah, it's only a 4" heel, so shouldn't be bad. I have probs at 5.5" or higher, unless there's a significant platform. This one also has a 3/4" platform.

And darnit, I also want these from Chinese Laundry:

Still $30!

This entire ideeli collection is nice. So much color! http://www.ideeli.com/events/55430/latest_view#p=1&c=1588850

i've loved every pair of rocket dogs i've owned. and they're comfortable enough. i mean if you got dancingin them for hours and hours your feet will hurt obviously but if you just wear them to work and you're sitting down most of the time you'll be fine
