I understand the tick bite fear. I've had two close friends with lyme disease and resultant permanent disabilities because of it.

i've had lyme & rocky mountain spotted fever. the RMSF was never treated (never knew i had it until i was being tested for lyme). there are apparently a lot of people who go to the doctor to get on antibiotics if they get bit by one tick (right after they're bitten, when it still looks like a normal bug bite, not after it's swollen or infected or nasty). overreactions imo

Yeah, that's a little much. Usually shouldn't you wait for the bullseye rash around a tick bite or some other symptoms? Or am I thinking of a different disease?

yeah i think typically, and the normal reaction imo, would be to wait until you see the bull's eye rash or have spots on your hands/feet, or if it looks swollen/red/hot & continues to get worse.

i never got the RMSF rash, but did have the other symptoms & just thought i had a bad cold, so i never went to the doctor. i did get the typical lyme rash, which prompted the trip to the doctor after about 3 days. i traced the rash with a sharpie to keep track of it.

umm no. apparently you can't read/comprehend. i did NOT have the rash. all i had were cold symptoms. i don't go to the doctor for every little cold that comes around.

about 25% of people don't get the rash btw
