It was overwhelming. We were lucky enough to have his parents offer it to us as a wedding present. The good stuff is expensive. Now I have yo be patient and wait for it to be delivered. Only a week though.

Went and registered at BabiesRUs and Target for baby stuff today

Since we were at Crossroads, we stopped by Kid To Kid and shopped for some baby boy clothes. Got like 6 outfits for $27

I wasn't impressed with the selection of crib mattresses at BabiesRUs. They had like 3 mattresses and none were dual sided. We need one that is firm on one side (for the crib) and then softer on the other side (for the toddler bed). Found that at Target

Learned today that my country ass 77 year old (at the time) grandma went out dancing at the VFW the night before she died in 1984. Clubbing at all ages runs deep in the 1200 family. We keep that shit moving.

I just ate half a carton of ciao bella blood orange sorbet, and I had to fight the urge to keep eating while I was putting it away.

A little sad. Well, more than a little. And of course it has to do with a woman. It usually does. Fundamental definition of insanity...repeating a behavior and expecting different outcomes.

Went out with some of my girlfriends tonight, and the truth comes out when you are drunk! Lots of relationship confessions, and I am so glad I am on the other side of the pond after hearing their stories.

Some days I do miss being in a relationship, but I feel like I am way too selfish with my time right now.

"There ain't no rest for the wicked ... There ain't nothin' in this world for free.
I know I can't slow down, I can't hold back
Though you know I wish I could
Oh no, there ain't no rest for the wicked
Until we close our eyes for good"

A last toast to the night: "Find your target, don't slow down, keep pushing, don't hold back until you close your eyes for good."

Words I can only wish to live by.

You need to hit up the yard sales. We went to one last week and scored a bunch of clothes for 50 cents each. Which reminds me I should wash all those clothes today.

sumfoo1 a couple years ago I had an incredibly rough year, and it took another year to pull myself out of it. I had a couple really good friends to thank for keeping me from killing myself. Now I am happier than I have ever been. Please feel free to pm if you want to talk, vent, or whatever.

As I sit here pondering life whilst reigning supreme upon my household throne, something's dawned on me:

I might be 41, divorced, and financially in a lot of trouble. I might have personality disorders. I might have just completely botched what could have been the most rewarding relationship of my life. I might be just a little nuts and having a hard time going through it.

But I'm not the only one, and there are people who have had far worse things happen to them. sumfoo1 made that a little clearer, as well as several of my good friends around me. The Buddha told us that all life is full of pain, suffering, and sorrow. I've found it easy to wallow in self-pity, effectively victimizing myself and relying on the strength of others unnecessarily.

I look at my supervisor. He's got a degenerative nervous system disorder, and has difficulty walking. His other motor skills are becoming somewhat impaired, and his speech is becoming affected. Yet he is of good heart, and he is a Christian man of great faith and little judgment. I admire him for standing up to his adversities and being positive. I feel ashamed for not being of his caliber, even though I don't profess any faith in God or Jesus Christ. I envy him for having such strong faith, and often wish I KNEW there is or was a higher power with our best interest and unconditional love for us.

I look around me, at friends who are going through emotional turmoil, as they break with girlfriends and spouses, and I feel their hurt...because it carries me back to when I've gone through the same thing. It's hard, and I don't think it becomes much if any less painful as we get older. Maybe we just get better at handling it, though I know I'm behind the curve for my demographic.
