Well, many of the people that gyms are trying to attract are at least overweight. I'd say that about 1/3 of the people that I see at my gym fall into that category. It's intimidating to people who are just starting out at a gym to see nothing but "beautiful people" and can scare them away. To have at least one staff member who reflects their client base is just good business.

She also may be working there in order to take advantage of the gym. For all you know, she's a work in progress and somewhere on the path to success. That morbidly obese girl may have been super morbid obese. I also know a few people whose gym membership turned into gym employment. For example, one of the personal trainers at my gym started out like everyone else, lost 100 pounds, and now works as a trainer.

I say kudos to the fatty who has the balls to apply for a job at the gym. That takes a lot of balls.

My plan...

Take this one last class I need to get into the teaching program. Try to find a job as a teaching assistant so I can get summers off. While working as a teacher assistant go back to school to get a teaching degree. Become a teacher. Get summers off. Live in Ocean City in the summers. Have a job in the Fall through Spring.
