For the Sunglasses: Sunglass Hut, Solstice, or any other Sunglass store in Crabtree (there's a third I can't remember the name of)
If you want cheap high end sunglasses, go to the Sak's Outlet off of Airport Blvd.... Gucci's for like 60 bucks.... 1/18/2007 8:52:10 PM |

Can any of you suggest some actresses/models who have longish bangs? I'm trying to figure out if I want to cut my hair to have bangs and it would be nice to have a reference picture of what I'm wanting if I do decide to cut it. 1/18/2007 11:21:30 PM |

^ No, but to me it seems like a pain to deal with. I recommend the NuvaRing if you're looking for something you don't have to deal with daily. I think some other people have talked about it on here. 1/19/2007 10:31:51 AM |

i have a question... i know this is probably a bad idea, but whatever... so, i just forgot to take my bc for like, 4 days straight, so i decided not to take anymore until after my period and i would start again. (i'm not getting any, so it's not like it really matters) well, i forgot to start again, and it's been a couple weeks i think, but there's this thing coming up in a couple weeks, that i have a feeling i'm going to be on my period for, and i don't want to be on my period for it. so i was thinking, i know you can skip the blank pills and go straight to a new pack if you want to skip your period, so i was wondering if i could just start a pack now, and force myself to not have a period.
like i said, i know it's probably a bad idea, but i really don't think it'll have any damaging effects. maybe i'll ask my pharmacist

It's not taking it that I've had enough of because I already have to take my thyroid medicine everyday. I'm sick of the additional hormone affecting my sex drive and moods. I've tried a lot of birth control hoping to find the right fit. I've used the high potent BC, the low dosage, the long dosage, and at first I love it and praise the pill I'm currently on; but after awhile I end up having the same problems. I think I just need to go a different route.

I thought the NuvaRing was going to be awesome, but after two weeks on it I've noticed that I don't lubricate at all, no matter how turned on I am. That makes sex real fun.
I'm definitely thinking about an IUD now. 1/19/2007 10:49:14 AM |

^^^ haha damnit... this is a ladies thread.. anyway, i'm not currently having sex! so there! but not because i'm not responsible. when i am having sex with someone, i'm very responsible about taking the pill everyday.
i don't know how i'd feel about an IUD.. but that sucks about the nuva ring and lube thing.. that would get old quick...
has anyone been on the shot before? what are your opinions about that? 1/19/2007 10:53:45 AM |

I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen when I first started the pill (when I turned 19), but I was having the mood swings and not feeling well on it. I have been on Nordette probably 2-3 years and I absolutely love it. No mood swings, no cramps, short & light period. I would recommend it to anyone. It's fairly expensive but well worth it.
My tiny friend started getting shots for BC and gained like 30 lbs right away. Enough to deter me. 1/19/2007 12:28:25 PM |

Comments on Depo: They have done numerous studies on the weight concern of Depo, and it has been proven that since it's Progestine only (no estrogen) only 5 lbs of weight gain can be related to the actual drug.... HOWEVER, one of the potential side effects of it is a state of being constantly hungry. You don't gain weight b/c you take the shot... You gain weight b/c all you want to do is eat. That said, I know numerous people who have had a great experience with it, and others who hated it with a passion. At the end of the day, no one reacts the same to any BCP and it's going to depend on your body.
I have the mirena IUD and have nothing but positive things to say about it, but it's there b/c of a rare blood disorder I have that I cannot take BCP w/estrogen. They don't just hand out IUD's to anyone. Most doctors do not suggest them for college students, and I completely understand why.1/23/2007 1:57:42 PM |

^ Because they think all women in college are whores? 1/23/2007 2:03:54 PM |
QTPie All American 7496 Posts user info edit post |
Somewhat.... because of infection concerns, it's only an option if you're with one partner.... Few in college are on their last partner for the next 5 years. 1/23/2007 2:06:15 PM |
Skwinkle burritotomyface 19447 Posts user info edit post |
I know, but that makes it annoying for the people who are in long-term relationships, but have trouble convincing their doctors as such because they're used to thinking of all young people as promiscuous. 1/23/2007 2:20:48 PM |
QTPie All American 7496 Posts user info edit post |
I understand that side of it too....
There are other issues aside from just infections though.... Like the size of your uterus, perferation risks, scar tissue building that leads to permanant sterility, etc. (among MANY others) More than most 20 year olds want to have to worry about. 1/23/2007 2:24:49 PM |

...it won't work if she's a picky bitch.
and if i were her, i'd call you on it. you don't 'set' people up. you make sure they have a chance to meet each other a time or two in a casual setting, with no pressure, and if they'll work out well, there won't need to be any work done by you. 1/25/2007 12:52:06 PM |

Yeah but the problem is that I never hang out with her anymore, much less in a casual setting. And if I start doing so, she'll think that A. I want her again, or B. I'm trying to set her up with one of my friends. But perhaps I can get them both invited to the same party, and hope it works out.
Anyway, thanks for preventing me from sending her an e-mail saying, "Hey, hope you're doing well. I have a friend who's not very attractive, but I think..." 1/25/2007 1:01:58 PM |

any of you girls used the birth control patch? i think its called ortho evra... 1/26/2007 4:18:44 AM |
QTPie All American 7496 Posts user info edit post |
I used it for a while, but had a terrible reaction to the adhesive on the back of the patch that left scars that look like a burn. Other than that, I had no real issues with it at the time.
I know 2 others who had problems with the horomone levels (nausea for the first week, felt nuts in the 3rd week).
I know a couple others who were perfectly content with it.
At the end of the day, it's up to you and your body to judge if it's right for you, but I wouldn't suggest it as your first pick if it were left up to me. 1/26/2007 7:29:43 AM |

I'm sooo excited about my haircut today!!! do you ladies think I should go short??? I'm trying to grow out my dye, in hopes that the virgin hair will be healthier and maybe curly again. My years of box-dying every other month has really fried my hair!
Guys always say they prefer long hair but they don't know wtf they're talking about (they also say they like big boobs and they get over THAT in a hurry )
this is the length I'll probably go with. opinions??

britta, i think you look nice w/a shorter cut. even a little shorter than that pic, but in general, it looks good.
i <3 the design gallery, and i'd suggest asking whoever is doing your hair, brandy or heather, for their opinion. when i went a few weeks ago, i went in with an idea of what i wanted, and brandy helped refine it and gave her input on what she felt would look best w/my hair, my face, etc.] 1/26/2007 9:06:50 AM |
