29 points this week
Herron Michael Bennett Dee Brown
seem to be interesting waiver wire pickups because the guys ahead of them could be injured.

I'm pissed about a tie in one league, especially since I would've won if Todd Heap had just caught the ball instead of doing that stupid catch-and-pitch thing at the end of tonight's game. 10/10/2006 12:39:04 AM |

you have to check the injury report more often. vinateri was downgraded to questionable on saturday night, and the colts resigned martin gramatica a day or two before the game, three days after releasing him. that was a big sign right there. then, on sunday morning, about 8 am, the colts unofficially scratched him.
i don't know when it was made official, but i know it was clear before the game began everywhere that vin wouldn't be playing. i have him in my league as well and so i had to keep tabs on him. he'll be back in a couple of weeks as good as new. 10/10/2006 1:25:02 AM |

Play 3 WRs:
Steve Smith @ Baltimore Darrell Jackson @ St Louis Lee Evans @ Detroit B. Berrian @ Arizona Chris Chambers @ NY Jets
It would look like on paper that Smith and Chambers should be benched, but Smith is almost one of those dudes who is an auto start no matter what the matchup.
Is Leon Washington worth a pickup (over 100 yards vs Jax) or was it one of those fantasy one hit wonders? 10/10/2006 8:03:59 AM |

^^^^Yahoo gave the catch to the guy my TE swung the ball to immediately after catching it. I'm not sure if that should count as a lateral or a tip. I'm still holding out hope, since ESPN gave my guy 11 yards and NFL.com gave him 10.
^Don't overthink matchups. The 100 yards was nice, but remember they lost 0-41 and he's listed at like 4th-string on the jets depth chart. 10/10/2006 9:54:39 AM |

Leon Washington is not the fourth string RB for the Jets. He is behind Kevan Barlow, but with Barlow shitting the bed, Washington got the call. That means he is 2nd string. Anyway he did put up his stats against at Jag defense that stayed in the nickel pretty much after the first quarter. I don't think he is a good fantasy play regardless unless your league is very deep and you can play 3 RBs.10/10/2006 10:57:08 AM |

My bad, I only looked at the unofficial depth chart on the jet's web page.
Anyways, from ESPN chat:
Quote : | "Dave(Greenbay): Do you see L.Washington get the main bulk of carries for the Jets as the season goes on.
SportsNation Eric Karabell: (11:06 AM ET ) Not sure yet. It would make sense if Leon gets the carries this week, but it was also a brutal blowout loss, and the Jets might view Kevan Barlow as their top back still. Barlow did score four touchdowns in the first four games, after all. My guess is it's a split deal, and you should at least add Washington in case he's the main man." |

^ if you need reasons, I can give them to you...but here would be my picks.
Plaxico - caught TD's in 3 of 4 games. Santana Moss - playing the leagues 2nd worst pass defense
Rudi - He should have a big game here W. Dunn - Simply better matchup than the remaining two choices. NY defense is poor and can be run on. 10/11/2006 10:17:08 AM |

and I'm thinking Manning.
they have too many weapons to not play him.
Manning loves the dump passes to Tiki, Shockey should play, Plax is red hot, Toomer is playing above and beyond, and the #3 receiver, Carter, is playing great as well.
200 yards and 2-3 TD's
Feely (sp?) will have at least 2-3 field goals. He makes a great play this week as well.
Go with Manning. 10/11/2006 10:37:06 AM |

^I also have Plaxico so Eli-Plaxi combo is pretty solid. Our league scoring is TD heavy so when these two hook up, I really get a boost. 10/11/2006 10:44:12 AM |

Frank Gore vs. SD
or
Larry Johnson (sore neck) vs. Pittsburgh
Two top RBs, two tough run defenses...my other two RBs, Willie Parker and Julius Jones have favorable matchups, but the third spot between those two is tricky this week. 10/11/2006 1:17:58 PM |

among these which 2 should I start?
Stephen Jackson vs. Seattle Travis Henry vs. Washington Tiki Barber vs. ATL
i'm thinkin Jackson and Henry, henry is now starting and he rushed for 120 last week against indy, while Tiki has yet to score a TD the entire year, and isn't ATL's run defense pretty bangin? how is the skins' run D? seattle's?
also between these 3 which should I start?
Colston vs Philly S. Moss vs Ten J. Cotch vs Miami A. Johnson vs. Dallas
if I start Colston this week it's gonna be at WR cuz I have gates too and i have a feeling he's gonna go off this week against SF 10/11/2006 3:31:23 PM |

The Chargers will be up early and often against the 49ers, thus limiting Gore's touches.
The Chiefs could be down as well, but Johnson is thier most productive receiver, not to mention rusher.
Always start your stud.
Go with Johnson over Gore. 10/11/2006 4:53:54 PM |

Hey Panthro I'm in a league with defensive players.. wondering if I should stick with Lucas at cornerback(he has been a little hurt so far this season. and they arent throwing at him much) or Lito who just came back from injury and had a huge game against Dallas.. scoring is 1 pt. per tackle, 1 for tackle for loss, 1 for passes defended, 1 for tackle, 2 for int. and 6 for INT return for TD
-first time playing in a league with Defensive players 10/11/2006 5:11:41 PM |

Cool, thnx for the question...I love IDP's! I play with them as well in some of my leagues.
Well, for this weekend, I would suggest Lito, simply because he will more opprotunities to do something...Baltimore doesnt throw nearly as much as New Orleans does. If you have any other IDP's (Individual defensive positions) available, I would absolutely look for Tommie Harris of Chicago and/or Bart Scott of Baltimore. Both of those guys are putting up monster IDP fantasy numbers this year but aren't owned in over half of Yahoo! leagues.
Look for those guys definitely, but get Lito...at least for this game.

He's become a solid #2 behind Roy Williams in Detroit. With the Lions always losing by 2 TDs, Kitna is constantly passing and Williams always has the #1 CB on him, so Furrey is able to get some fantasy points. He is really nothing more than a third WR though because his production will be highly inconsistent.10/12/2006 3:30:03 PM |

aight aight aight check out this trade, give me opinions
I GIVE UP
D. Culpepper (I have Harrington) S. Alexander
I GET
T. Barber (could replace Droughns, and leave me with a backfield of barber and mcgahee) E. Moulds (i am REALLY desperate at WR) J. Stevens (hasn't played a game, i've got watson and e. johnson at TE)
I think I should take it while I can. Culpepper is out at least a couple weeks, and alexander wasn't doing shit when he was "healthy." 10/12/2006 11:24:10 PM |

not in this league.
there are literally not any starting QBs left on the waiver wire.
and i'm not one of the smart ones to grab a solid backup, hence my harrington situation.
i mean, if harrington is replaced in three weeks, i am screwed with a starter (Brady) and nothing else (2 QB league)
