His goal aside, Borer had a very nice Wesley-style board pinch hipcheck late in the game on Hossa...I'm really liking this kid.

you and me both vinyl

I have seen him make one glaring mistake, giving up the puck in the defensive zone that led to a scoring chance

other than that, he's killing it

he played 19 minutes tonight

kickass game, way for the team to man up for leighton

after the first period, leighton looked good I thought. maybe he was just nervous for making his first hurricanes start?

it was kinda cool seeing half of albany last night

another DAMN good game from the Staal-Cole-Whitney line. 5 pts from Staal, 4 from the Wiz, and 2 from Cole in the last 2 games. They've been generating some great chances in addition to the goals too.

Borer looks pretty damn good out there, and congrats to him for NHL goal #1.

Not good for Albany

Leighton in goal again tonight, which is just plain stupid IMO, regardless of what happens. Nevermind the fact that it is a back-to-back; he played decent last night and did exactly what a backup is expected to do, and we won the game. I don't know if Lavi is trying to ride him until he has a Grahame style implosion or what, but I definitely feel it should be Cam tonight.

Playing Leighton again is just the sort of kick in the pants that Cam needs. He knew he could coast with Grahame on the bench because Grahame would never get tandem-size minutes...Leighton has a clean slate, and Cam needs to see and experience that.

Goal differential by period:

	1	2	3
CAR 0 -8 +4
STL -1 -3 +5

Goal scoring by period:

	1	2	3
CAR 38 39 55
STL 22 34 39

Should be a good finish.

i dont know why but tonights loss didnt piss me off that badly.

probably because either 1. I suspected it would happen or 2. It seems we ran into a goalie absolutely on fire.

eventually some of this offensive talent is going to have to be traded to help your goalies out

The game against the Thrashers was great. However we apparently don't watch too much film since Kovalchuk had his way with us all night. That was disappointing.

Yet after watching that game I agree that we need to find some hard defensive players and stop the bleeding in these games. While they only took 17 shots (or less) they we're all they needed. And that sucks.

I think we can really do well with some defensive help.

And I love my 10th Anniversary patch

A few too many PBRs coach. Cole cant go, JR needs to decide if he is going to keep stillman and if hes not he is obvious one to be traded

not if you are still planning on winning this year. stillman is vital to any playoff hopes and dreams we have

^^ Stillman has a no trade clause so he would have to agree to waive it. Cole, Commodore and Gleason are the few without NTC's who could bring something back of value.

why not stillman? of all the people whose stock is high now, but doesn't really provide much long term return for us, stillman would be the best bet..how much longer can he feasibly play? cole will be in the league for a while, and commodore and gleason are even younger than he is.

Yes, but Cory Stillman plays hard every shift and scores points every game.

Erik Cole skates one out of a five and separates himself from the puck more often than he gets it to the net.

Stillman = UFA at the end of the season, and at his current pace, probably tough to resign

stubhub... we had to throw some $$$, but when they arrived today they were 2nd row instead of the 3rd row we ordered so that was pretty sweet. paid less than face value. Took a week of vacation for this so I hope we get at least one win out of the deal, and at least one goal in each game.

I've been watching hab fans and leaf fans in the rbc for 5 years now(never really been bothered by sens fans), and I have some things up my sleeve for celebrations to compete with those canadians. you'll know its us if you are watching on TV.

^^ Ladislav Smid, Czech d-man, 9th overall in Ladd's draft year, rounding into a solid 2-3 over the next couple of seasons.

Quote :
"Colorado Avalanche defenseman John-Michael Liles, who can become an unrestricted free agent after the season, is believed to be atop Carolina's list.

The Canes would likely be willing to gamble that they can re-sign the 27-year-old, who has fallen out of favor in Colorado after breaking the 40-point mark in the previous two seasons.

Other defensemen who may be on the market at some point include Derek Morris of the Phoenix Coyotes, Tom Preissing of the Los Angeles Kings and Joni Pitkanen of the Edmonton Oilers."

haha it seems like every single Canes fan (myself included) has had a huge hardon for Liles for over a year now. Guess I should get around to photoshopping him into a uniform.
