Russell's entrance into the newscast and his monologue was awesome. "We will eat you... right after we eat your children." then followed with "Now let's have a look at the weather." One of the show's best moments IMO.

I thoroughly enjoyed the episode. A few thoughts...

1. Glad to be rid of Franklin, cool to see wooden bullets in action, gg Jason.
2. Are we going to have a single episode this season without Tara's ridiculous lower jaw quiver?
3. It was interesting to see more of the relationship b/t Eric and Pam, dare i say heartwarming?
4. The softy in me wants Hoyt and Jessica to hurry up and get back together, that innocence added a nice balance to the show.
5. Sam's brother being such an ingrate is starting to annoy me.
6. Crystal is so drastically wishy-washy that it's no longer interesting and is now irritating.

after the ending of this episode I think Russell has bumped Lafayette into my number two favorite spot...

He was great in the first two seasons but now it's all his homo love fest with the nurse and it's pretty boring...most of the charm of his character was that fact that his life was complete turmoil...letting him be happy is making him suck...

he used to get all the best lines but i guess there is only so much to go around and Russell now has the market cornered on that

^ I have a feeling LaFayette's world is gonna get turned on its ear in hardcore fashion before the end of the season. I've never like that nurse guy, and I'm thinking we're being set up with this cutesy dating life he's trying to settle into.

That said...I agree that Russell has taken over my number one spot...him on the roof with Talbot's urn looking down at the VLAs was awesome.

^ Exactly. Typically when I recognize the actor appearing as a new character, they have more significance than just a new love interest. Plus in the previews for next week it looked like he and Lafayette were involved in some wild voodoo stuff, should be interesting. Also I think something is up with the new waitress, she's appearing way too much, helping Tara and Arlene and what-not.

And yes, Russell is by far the best character this season, and it's frankly not even close. Though I do think Terry needs some more face-time, he's always a good character.

finished it last night and yeah, the second half of the episode was by far the best of the season IMO and one of the greatest moments of the show.

it was great to see Russel on TV as Nan was drinking from a human. especially as Russel was putting them all on front street. haha. i cant wait to see how this turns out and IF Eric can indeed kill him.

the urn thing was hilarious and i found the moment b/e Eric and Pam to be touching haha. when he told her she would have to become a maker and she cried ... awwww how sad.

staying in your house at night isn't fool proof though...we've seen Bill and Franklin glamour their way in to someone's home.

And I think you're right as far as Sookie being the one to take him down...
...but hopefully that won't happen til next season. We don't need Russell to go away just yet. I'd like there to be a bit of cat and mouse first w/ some more vampire politics drama, and maybe seeing The Authority instead of the back of their heads.
...I also think that was foreshadowed with Eric & Talbot's chess game. Eric moves a female figure in to play just before/or as his checkmate move.
