it only wouldve been backcourt if his entire foot was behind the line
bottom line on this game is Dirk had a chance to send it to OT and he missed 6/5/2011 11:04:44 PM |

Its already been settled on tv that it was backcourt. Once you establish the ball into the frontcourt the midline becomes essentially an out of bounds line. 6/5/2011 11:10:41 PM |

you might be right i'd have to see it again
but dallas was in position to send it to OT and they didnt make the shot
i could say lebron shouldve gone to the line for a couple FTs on a play early in the 4th but didnt get the call, point is they had a chance at the end and didnt convert 6/5/2011 11:16:58 PM |

Thats a judgement call. We can't say those things about judgement calls because that happens on every play. We can say when someone makes a shot with a foot on a line or steps out of bounds without a doubt that it should not have counted.
P.S. I saw Lebron move into Marion on that play where he got fouled with no call. Good no call imo. 6/5/2011 11:22:14 PM |

Clearly the refs gave the game to Miami based on the outcome of a single play.
Also, you people act like Miami is the only team that argues calls. Look at Tyson Chandler's face when he gets called for a foul or Dirk's when he doesn't get a call. 6/5/2011 11:29:09 PM |

I really don't understand the desire to try to boil every game down to one sentence a la "dallas had a shot to tie or win and failed." Seems like a lazy analysis of the game (or any game) if you ask me.
That type of "bottom line" analysis would be like me saying "Bill Russell has the most nba rings, so he's the best of all time." I really don't understand why so many fans are willing to just accept that level analysis. 6/5/2011 11:31:15 PM |

The officiating was terrible down the stretch, but I don't think it affected the outcome one way or the other. Some of the calls were very inconsistent. 6/5/2011 11:34:20 PM |

LeBron doesn't have to go balls out every game. Miami is so good that he can be 80% Bron and they'll still win the series fairly easily. Like I said before the first game...

He hasn't played in five months. In the slim chance he does return, it will be mainly ceremonial, just to give a lift to the rest of the team. Expecting him to have any real impact at this point is misguided. 6/6/2011 4:08:37 PM |

I don't think he'll be ready to play either but i'm saying if he's ready he'll be ready. He's close to 100% at this point they are just concerned about how his injury will react to heavy contact. He's been practicing just no full contact. You act like he's been on crutches or something all this time. 6/6/2011 5:14:39 PM |

With Haslem, it was more of a matter of pain tolerance. With Butler, there's a chance he could re-injure his knee. I understand why he wants to come back; this may be his only shot to be part of a title winning team. But he's a free agent, so risking his next contract for just a few minutes of action seems shortsighted. 6/6/2011 5:19:44 PM |

I like how people use percentages for health like some dudes leg is an Itunes download. You're either injured or you're not and then you're either "tender" or you're not. Saying someones 70% or 90% don't mean a damn thing. 6/6/2011 5:43:22 PM |

I dont think Butler will play, he's a free agent seems risky.
Besides, he sucked this season and Stevenson is playing well this series so it wouldn't really make a big difference even if he were 100% (which he obv wont be)
Wade is definitely the MVP as of right now, that was an unbelievable game. Bosh worst player on the court for Miami two games in a row. Lebron is still playing well but Wade was phenomenonal. They're getting nothing from Haslem but Chalmers had a great game to make up for it.
Marion had a bad game and Barea was a total disaster. They really needed a better option, it's pretty gross to spend that much on your roster and then be forced to use that guy in the NBA Finals where he's killing them. Not sure why they didn't go with Stevenson since he's been good in the series so far.

Down the stretch they need to do like they did in game 2 and have terry press fullcourt then put marion on whoever gets the ball first out of wade and lebron. That way if the heat get the ball in a mismatch you can bring the double with no time on the shot clock.

I dont think it really matters who you put on Wade or Lebron, the firepower from the Miami side is too much for the Mavs. D Wade is D Wade, LBJ has been playing D like a champion (check out D Rose and J Terry's stats when LBJ is/was guarding them), and say what you want about Bosh/Wonder Woman but he will get points and boards. Dirk simply does not have enough help to win, reminiscent of LBJ with Cleveland a couple years back and D Rose with Chicago this year. 6/7/2011 8:28:31 PM |

i dunno if you can say Dirk doesn't have enough to win...sure of the best 4 players in the series, Dirk is the only one on Dallas, but I still think its gonna be a close series...Wade could've easily won game 2 with a buzzer beater and Dirk could've easily sent game 3 into overtime with a buzzer beater...its not like Miami is blowing them out 6/7/2011 9:05:08 PM |

I don't care what NBA fans say. This is the only level of basketball where you can pick the ball and take off running full speed with no concern for where defenders are, create a collision where there was never a possible way for you to score, and get points for it. Its bullshit and Wade and Lebron are great because they take advantage of it the more than any other player to ever play the game. 6/7/2011 9:27:34 PM |
