Sounds like Lennon suffered a hamstring tear today. They don't know how bad it is until the MRI though.

At least it happened before the window so that Levy could go out and bring in some reinforcements.

Also,

NyM, reel your boy in before he gets hurt. He likes to run his mouth a lot for a guy that hasn't ever taken points from Spurs, got dominated by Spurs at the Lane in October, and conceded a winner to Walker that most keepers would have gotten to.

Quote :
"“Not getting above Tottenham isn’t even something we can think about,” he said. “It’s not in our vocabulary. We don’t want to finish below Tottenham, no matter what. That’s the mentality here and my personal ambition.

“I’m one of the fans, so it means a lot to me to finish above Tottenham. And we will do so. Will they start losing soon? They will. They have been in good form, you have to give that to them. But I’m confident we are a better side and will finish above them.

“Time will tell whether they will crumble. They look good at the moment but they will drop points in the second half of the season.”"

Orly? All I can say is, we ready, Sexchesney, we ready.

Quote :
"“I don’t think there is a big gap in terms of quality between us and City,” said Szczesny.

“The only difference was that they scored the goal and we didn’t."

Madden would be proud.

He's Polish. That's barely a country at best. He is right about Man City. That was a 50/50 game. Still see a top four finish, above Chelsea.

LFC's response is pretty damn good

Quote :
"We look forward to the publication of the Commission's Judgment. We will study the detailed reasons of the Commission once they become available, but reserve our right to appeal or take any other course of action we feel appropriate with regards to this situation.

We find it extraordinary that Luis can be found guilty on the word of Patrice Evra alone when no-one else on the field of play - including Evra's own Manchester United teammates and all the match officials - heard the alleged conversation between the two players in a crowded Kop goalmouth while a corner kick was about to be taken.

The Club takes extremely seriously the fight against all forms of discrimination and has a long and successful track record in work relating to anti-racist activity and social inclusion. We remain committed to this ideal and equality for all, irrespective of a person's background.

LFC considers racism in any form to be unacceptable - without compromise. It is our strong held belief, having gone over the facts of the case, that Luis Suarez did not commit any racist act. It is also our opinion that the accusation by this particular player was not credible - certainly no more credible than his prior unfounded accusations.

It is key to note that Patrice Evra himself in his written statement in this case said 'I don't think that Luis Suarez is racist'. The FA in their opening remarks accepted that Luis Suarez was not racist.

Luis himself is of a mixed race family background as his grandfather was black. He has been personally involved since the 2010 World Cup in a charitable project which uses sport to encourage solidarity amongst people of different backgrounds with the central theme that the colour of a person's skin does not matter; they can all play together as a team.

He has played with black players and mixed with their families whilst with the Uruguay national side and was Captain at Ajax Amsterdam of a team with a proud multi-cultural profile, many of whom became good friends.

It seems incredible to us that a player of mixed heritage should be accused and found guilty in the way he has based on the evidence presented. We do not recognise the way in which Luis Suarez has been characterised.

It appears to us that the FA were determined to bring charges against Luis Suarez, even before interviewing him at the beginning of November. Nothing we have heard in the course of the hearing has changed our view that Luis Suarez is innocent of the charges brought against him and we will provide Luis with whatever support he now needs to clear his name.

We would also like to know when the FA intend to charge Patrice Evra with making abusive remarks to an opponent after he admitted himself in his evidence to insulting Luis Suarez in Spanish in the most objectionable of terms. Luis, to his credit, actually told the FA he had not heard the insult."

tl;dr - basically, there's no evidence other than Evra's word, which is bullshit. I don't know either way, I haven't really been keeping up with it

Obviously that is a dubious ban, and if he wasn't a douche on the field I'd feel bad.

They'll reduce it to 5. Evra won't be banned. Suarez deserves everything he gets, as he's 1000% the model of all that's wrong with the game.

If he's a racist, he deserves the ban.

But the hyperbole over Suarez and his game is getting a little out of control. He's a whiny bitch, he argues bad calls, and he dives occasionally. He's also not the only player who does it.

That's what I was getting at with the karma comment as well.

aim, you know I got your back most of the time, but anyone with half a brain can see that one of Suarez's tactics is to say and do whatever he can to bait an opponent and the second you even breath on him he is going to fall to the ground as if he's been sniped barca style (that's for you jadn ) and play the victim. It's disgusting. We've all seen countless times since his arrival in the prem not too long ago.

You would hope that such a lengthy ban will calm this guy's antics down. I won't be holding my breath though.

Like I've said already, I'm not arguing that he's an honest player. It's embarrassing the way he plays sometimes. I'm all for bans of clear dives and dissent, if there's evidence.

But there's no rule against being an asshole. And all I'm saying is plenty of other guys play in the same way he does.

^exactly. if soccer doesnt like dudes that dive and complain, they should make rules against and add another ref so that players dont feel the need to go down to get a call.

rooney got less of a suspension for kicking a guy in the head, and his you could actually prove as opposed to being 1 guy's word.

Yeah, that letter reads like an angry fan wrote it instead of the club.

This is what I can gather after going back and reading that statement

1) Liverpool believe that there is no evidence other than Patrice Evra's word.
2) Liverpool believe that Patrice Evra is untrustworthy.
3) Liverpool believe that Luis Suarez is not racist because he himself is of mixed race and has black friends.
4) Liverpool believe that The FA have always wanted to suspend Luis Suarez because they're mean.
5) Liverpool believe that Patrice Evra should be suspended for being mean too.
6) Liverpool believe that Luis Suarez is being punished for helping Uruguay knock Ghana out of the 2010 World Cup*.

*Ok, not really, but I suspect that's only because they forgot to put that in.

Probably not the smartest of ideas to put the FA on blast if you plan on appealing, either.

Worst part is Suarez is so supremely talented and seems like a decent guy off the pitch (unlike complete pieces of shit like Giggs or Terry) if he just didn't play like a complete douche people would talk about him for all the right reasons.

Just curious, how often do you guys watch Liverpool games in their entirety?

Because while Suarez is a punk, bitch, twat, whatever else people want to call him, he really doesn't outright dive. He frames challenges for the referees so they'll call fouls and he embellishes things to make them look like fouls but he's not blatant taking nose dives like it's going out of style. He's had a few, yes, but it's not happening as often as people act like it is.

And those things are done to a varying degree by a shit ton of other people in the Premier League. Suarez's problem is that when he does it, it's extremely annoying and very irritating to watch (even for Liverpool fans).

His other problem is the screaming and pleading at the referee when they ignore his foul claims. Again, this isn't new. It's a fucking Manchester United trademark. But Suarez comes off like a petulant two year old and makes you want to slap him in the face.

The problem with this whole thing is being annoying and irritating isn't grounds for a goddamn eight game ban. I would have zero problem if referees threw more yellow cards his way (dissent, unsporting behavior, and simulation are already laws that just aren't being enforced in his case) but if this is true, and I kind of feel it is

Quote :
"I think this is a cumulative suspension for all of the stupid bullshit Suarez pulls."

then it's fucking bullshit. It's an insult to people who have been legit victims of racism and it doesn't convey any kind of message to Suarez about his bullshit if he's being officially punished for something else.

I actually forgot about Terry's deal with Anton Ferdinand. Lol, and he has remained captain of the England team. He'll probably get a fine and a stern talking to.

And before I get tarred and feathered I know Suarez was banned two (?) years ago for the biting shoulder deal and i acknowledged he's cunty on the field, but off Ive yet to see any stories that tons of EPL players get embroiled in every year..

I guess we're off topic anyways.

Setting the punishment for racial slurs (with evidence, of course) at eight games is fine with me, as long as they do it across the board. Terry better get at least eight games.

But I think if they're giving that many games for verbal assaults, they should give just as many, if not more, for leg shattering tackles.
