Yeah I just love it when republicans use examples of election fraud to prove they need strict voter ID.

So now his staff is calling directly for people to ignore media outlets, and to get their news from the president.

Unreal.

If you're already there and I've missed it I apologize for not reading through the whole backlog of horseshit you spout on a regular basis.

The real question is, as a Clinton supporter, will you denounce the KKK? Will you officially disavow Clinton's connection to her mentor, Robert Byrd (a member of the KKK). Why do you associate with such openly racist candidates? How much longer until you tell us we need to bring back slavery?

And if you don't feel this way then please feel free to denounce the above stance and any who hold it

You missed the point. I haven't been critical of "costs" in the past if they were actually something that benefited the nation as a whole. I've been critical of socialist policies aka redistribution of wealth. Using tax dollars to verify the integrity of the democratic process, eh I've seen worse uses of tax dollars. (dumbass)

No, as usual, it is you who misses the point. Please recall that your question was:

Quote :
"But I can't understand adamantly opposing something that would validate that it is not..."

I simply answered your question: COST is one reason. It is irrelevant whether you agree or disagree with cost being an issue: It IS an issue for some people, thus answering your question. Dumbass.

Nice try at moving the goalpost, however.

But has he risen to power off of a wave of nationalistic fear and demagoguery? YES.

Has he inherited a massive, unaccountable apparatus of state surveillance and militarism? YES

Did he send out his press secretary out on the first day to scold and reprimand the media and to declare official falsehoods? YES

Is he the kind of man who is willing to use all those tools to exact political scores? YES"

I mean, JHC has a point. And it's the point that many have been trying to make. Think of the absolute worst person you could ever imagine as President. Then imagine giving him whatever new power you are saying the government should have. If you are not OK with the worst person you can think of using that power, then you shouldn't enact whatever policy you are proposing. And people laughed at us...

I'm curious as to why you stopped at 8 years. I seem to recall invading a country based on false information, and the media defaulting on their duty to inform us of said false information.

Look, I'm gonna let everyone in on a not so big secret. Governments in power trade access to the obedient press in exchange for favorable coverage. USA Today and the NY Times both went along with the WMD lie in exchange for access. Journalists trade integrity for opportunities to rub shoulders with the powerful ALL THE TIME. The only reason why CNN, etc are currently challenging this administration is because, so far, this administration is not playing the same game as previous administrations.

But fear not, soon enough we will be treated to "human interest stories" aka puff pieces about Ivanka Trump and that lousy cocksucker Kushner. The journalists who play along will be rewarded for their service as reliable stenographers, and those who buck will be targeted with vicious attacks (a la Megan Kelly). Bank on it.

I can't see how congress can conscionably fund this wall. Is it possible this is just a tactic to take the wall off the table or scaled back, just to push the other measures through unscathed?

Just seems insanely irresponsible to burn so much cash on something that has no rational basis for achieving its goals. It's literally a very expensive monument.

You didn't answer my question, you implied I was hypocritical with how I applied my scrutiny for use of tax dollars:
"Any other time you'd be expressing concerns about COST. Funny how you suddenly forget those concerns here."

I replied to this accusation of hypocrisy to explain why it was bullshit. BTW: I'm delighted you came out of nowhere to jump on the TWW leftist bandwagon, but please, for the love of god, improve your reading comprehension. Sorry, incorrect. You wondered why in the world anyone would be adamantly opposed to a large scale investigation of voter fraud. I explained that COST is one obvious objection; how did this not occur to you? I was not calling you a hypocrite; I don't give a shit if you consider cost an issue here or not. I was just making a snide comment on how fucking retarded you must be to not consider that cost would be an objection for some.

In the future, please think a little more deeply before wondering why oh why might someone object to such a large scale investigation.

And for the record, I did not come out of nowhere. This is not the first time I've schooled you, son.

yeah trump is just copying Fox News, seems that is who is advising him

on the 8PM O'Reilly factor the other night there was a segment on violence in chicago that incldued the "228 shootings in 2017 (up 5.5% from last year" and "42 homicides in 2017 (up 24% from last year)" statistics. They had someone on who called it carnage and then wondered if Trump would send the feds.

an hour or so later Trump tweeted: "If Chicago doesn't fix the horrible 'carnage' going on, 228 shootings in 2017 with 42 killings (up 24% from 2016), I will send in the Feds!"

His out of nowhere flag burning tweet? flag burning mentioned on fox news that morning.

etc...

at least he is watching the news? :sad shrug:

I recommend listening to this full interview but it's long (38 minutes). The most alarming thing to me was him dismissing people who oppose going into Iraq and taking their oil.

Quote :
"
PRESIDENT TRUMP: We should have taken the oil. You wouldn't have ISIS if we took the oil. Now I wasn't talking about it from the standpoint of ISIS because the way we got out was horrible. We created a vacuum and ISIS formed. But had we taken the oil something else would've very good happened. They would not have been able to fuel their rather unbelievable drive to destroy large portions of the world.

DAVID MUIR: You've heard the critics who say that would break all international law, taking the oil. But I wanna get to the words ...

(OVERTALK)

DAVID MUIR: ... that you ...

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Wait, wait, can you believe that? Who are the critics who say that? Fools.

DAVID MUIR: Let, let me ...

PRESIDENT TRUMP: I don't call them critics. I call them fools.

DAVID MUIR: ... let me talk about your words ...

PRESIDENT TRUMP: We should've kept -- excuse me. We should've taken the oil. And if we took the oil you wouldn't have ISIS. And we would have had wealth. We have spent right now $6 trillion in the Middle East. And our country is falling apart.
"

EDIT:
https://youtu.be/XRnVdgmnBHA?t=31m23s
I know this is petty as fuck, but within 30 seconds Trump gets corrected on the name of the resolute desk and fails to remember who gave him a book about the election that he plugged during the interview.

It's interesting hearing him start to mirror 2000s era neocon think more and more. Not that it's surprising.

Glenn Greenwald made a pretty valid point yesterday. The minute Obama normalized what Bush/Cheney did and absolved them was the minute he allowed this to happen again. He had a chance to make a statement and he did not do it.

This isn't a critique of Democrats or Republicans, by the way. It's a case of "both sides" allowed this to continue and be put in the hands of an easily persuaded fool.

I don't know what the American Mirror is, nor do I care all that much, and full disclosure, it was linked from Drudge, as if this is a good thing for its readers, but having said that,

I'm sure this isn't something the Nazi's thought about doing for the Jews when they took power.

http://www.theamericanmirror.com/trump-orders-weekly-list-crimes-committed-illegals-sanctuary-cities/

I could see the Nazi propaganda machine doing something like this at the beginning to seed discontent among Germans. Maybe it is ridiculous to connect this administration in any way to Nazi Germany, but I'm just starting to see too many things come out of the WH for me to be comfortable.

so, its true that the executive order says that, but we should take a moment to reflect on you posting that link

instead of posting some random shitty website, why didn't you first google it and confirm on your own from a reputable source before posting? it took me like 10 seconds to google this and find a reputable source or direct white house link, why did you not do that before trusting a website that you admit you know nothing about?

this is why you so often fall for fake hysteria over non-stories, you aren't independently verifying what you are reading, you can't trust random blog sites

FoxNews wasnt called on during 2/3 of Obama's first 60 press briefings. So don't pretend like it's unpresidented for an administration to favor news outlets that provide more favorable coverage.

With that said, the media's job is to be skeptical of an administration and challenge them. Media outlets are not the mouthpiece of an administration. And that ends our Civics 101 lesson for today.

lol he is going to order the fraud "investigation" by executive order.

I have to imagine it will only be in states he lost and won't be an impartial third party... because he is a baby boy.

I find it ironic that he is basically using EOs in the way the right were adamant Obama would but never did.

For the anti-west Glenn Greenwald worshipping Russia apologist sub-cult of the left, Obama should have opened his Presidency with a Nuremberg style prosecution of the Bush administration for their Iraq War related crimes. Instead he focused on stabilizing the credit markets, saving the US auto industry, and stopping a recession from becoming a depression. For them, Obama turning out to be a level-headed institutionalist was the ultimate betrayalton.
