Was fun while it lasted. Our weak offense just never came through. Seems like in the 1st half we reverted back to early in the season play calling with no passes and just QB draws.

Yeah. Armstrong is tough and had some big runs but he’s limited as a passer. Offensive weapons are limited. I agree the play calling in the first half was kinda weird. Felt like we went away from a lot of what worked later in the year. QB runs were obviously effective in the first half but made it kinda hard to sustain drives and definitely don’t work when you get off schedule on offense.

I don’t know the whole scouting report on Grayson McCall but I’m optimistic the offense will feature more weapons around the QB next year. Overall it’s hard to take anything major away from this game. Would’ve been awesome to win, especially to keep it rolling with the recruiting/transfer momentum we’ve had. But oh well

Honestly, we outperformed for both the season and this game. Not happy to lose the bowl game, but we did better than we honestly should have, given the matchup and missing our biggest defensive player.
At a minimum, beating the pants off of UNC is always nice

I’m excited about Sean Brown but yeah the D will be interesting next year. I’m confident that there’s a relatively decent floor that they we shouldn’t drop below. But we’ve been spoiled the last couple years

I agree that our defense wasn’t great. Lots of missed tackles. But if you wanna look for a silver lining, KState scored >28 in 10/12 regular season games. We held them to 28. And I don’t want to do the thing where it’s like “just take away those 2 plays and we win” but…we had them in 4th and 5 on the first drive and they busted a 37 yard play for a TD. Then forced another 4th down and they converted a 30 yard run by the punter. The defense has to clean stuff like that up. But I thought there were some bright spots on D. It wasn’t all bad. But reminded of early in the season when the D looked solid for like 3/4 of a game but would then give up like 3-4 explosive plays that were back breaking.
