I got the liquid stitch too! Dermabond?

i wish we could have done dermabond, but it was the inside of his lip so i'm not sure that would have been possible (i know very little about stitches as i've never had any...and i've never broken a bone other than a hairline fracture in my foot).

also regardless of what was used, they still would have had to papoose him and he still would have cried the whole time from being restrained and we still would have felt like shit

yeah i think they used dermabond. thank god the stuff worked for me - the MD wasn't sure if it would because the cut was so deep but she said i did a good job holding the skin together so the cut didn't split too bad.

and if it was the inside of the lip then the liquid stuff probably wouldnt work since i can't get my thumb wet for 24 hours and then i can't do anything physical for 5 days so the cut can start to heal without splitting open and gushing blood everywhere

Yeah I was a bit skeptical when I had my surgery. After I went home, I was so paranoid about reopening the wound from moving or stretching my skin. But that thing holds!!!

they used dermabond on the skin after my thymectomy surgery (same incision as open heart surgery - through the sternum). they closed the interior layers with dissolving stitches then just used dermabond on the outside. worked pretty well. i was still terrified of my chest flying open when i sneezed/coughed/threw up. they put titanium twist ties in my sternum to prevent that though

^ I have heard horror stories of infection in the spinal canal, so I was super paranoid about the dermabond coming off and getting the area infected.

All I have been wanting the past few months is a nice relaxing good thunderstorm. Well I've gotten them the past two mornings. When I didn't sleep very well and I wake up to the sound of rain falling and thunder rolling in the distance. That's exactly what will help me wake up in the morning.

So last night I was trying to sleep and the muscle in my neck was killing me and I could barely move...so I went and got a heating pad to relax the muscle. Then the heat from the heating pad triggered a flare up in my shoulder so I had to get an ice pack for that.
