so a few pages back i think someone brought up cheap makeup. just got back from target (always a good decision for my wallet) and i suggest elf makeup. it's super duper cheap but for the money it's pretty damn good. quick break down of purchases

100 eyeshadow pallet - $10
black and brown gel eyeliner (with a brush that is actually not a piece of total crap) - $3 each
blush - $3

they also had a bunch of other stuff. def worth trying out and if you end up not liking it, well you're only out 3 dollars.

bought the pallet a few days ago and have been using and i'm pretty pleased with it. lots of colors. both matte and shimmery. i'm excited to try out a bunch of tutorials i have on pintrest.

tl;dr - elf makeup is cheap and awesome. it is at target.

like i said. cheap makeup. it's not going to give you the same affect as urban decay or anything i agree

but id put it on the same level as other drugstore makeup but at half the price

while on the topic of cheap makeup (or any, for that matter), I found this to be pretty interesting! and potentially helpful, of course. Fix your busted eyeshadows, etc!

I got my IUD out on Friday and started my BC pills Sunday (ortho tri cyclen, what I was on with zero issues before I got the IUD in) and OMG my hormones are so out of whack. Random crying and serious lack of patience this week. Anyone have any tricks to take care of this?

^^I used Orthotricyclin without any issues, but your experience sounds exactly like mine on Yaz. I wanted to try a lower dose hormone, and that completely threw me out of whack, so I went back to generic orthotrisprintec, and I haven't had any issues. I'd call back at the end of this month and get a switch to something else. I'd give it through the month though, because sometimes the issue will resolve itself.

i learned a long time ago to always wear a t-shirt while straightening my hair. I once dropped a curling iron and it hit me in three places while falling , boob, stomach, thigh. no scars

I dropped a motorcycle wheel on my leg yesterday, and now I have a nasty bruise. I'm pretty sure I would kill myself with a hair iron.

if we knew how to manage our moods better then wouldn't you think there be some kind of big article written about it, maybe a nobel prize to the person who figured it out... or a holiday commemorating it?

Y'all be nice.

I just googled this, natural ways to manage mood swings. I have no idea if it's valid or not, but you could give it a try, and let us know for future use!

I wasn't being mean. I don't have any remedies.

I just deal with it and move on to the next day.

Yeah, I think exercise is going to be key. When I had the crazy mood swings from Yaz, I would just try and remind myself "This is not what you really think, stop getting upset" and then try not to get upset that the boyfriend was out studying and not with me... yeah, that crazy.

yeah, i'm not letting it ruin my days or anything, I just haven't had mood swings like this in a very long time. I guess I was 19, because it was right before I was diagnosed with the polycystic ovarian syndrome. it's just super annoying to be watching a hockey game and just start crying for no reason.

It's okay, I remember in high school some of my friends dragged me to watch that stupid movie Paulie and I started bawling in the middle of it for no good reason. Maybe I was crying for wasting two hours of my life

I don't think Matt would handle random crying very well. He'd probably just offer you some scotch.

i tried the "every day wave" from the lauren conrad site...

i am in no way skilled enough with a curling iron to make it work...

it's going to take a whole lot of practice to get that down pat...

I don't think I could wear that anywhere. Maybe in Vegas or something? Also, I don't think I'd want to draw that much attention to myself.

elise concerning your mood swings, I would work out but also watch closely what you eat. Avoid anything too sugary because you don't want to have a sugar crash. Also try not to let your blood sugar get too low. I know when I was trying to figure out all my allergy issues, I had terrible mood swings. A lot of it had to do with eating stuff I wasn't supposed to (my body couldn't metabolize it) but also I have found now that if I stay away from the sugary things and make sure I am eating when I am hungry, it has really helped balance out my hormones. hopefully you're starting to feel better. Hang in there - changing birth controls can really screw with your internal system but you'll be back to normal before you know it

We have our engagement photos today! Wohoo! We had to reschedule them from a few weeks ago because of bad weather. And of course this morning I am like "oh I want some new clothes" so I'm going to hit up Marshall's and also the mall because my friend (I hope! Need to make appointment when they open) is going to do my make up

Am I gonna need to get them re-done? And I dont mean under the platic but you can see the white nail, then my nail, then the pink all from the top of the nail, you can see light through them, hard to eplain, maybe a pic?

Yeah, you'll need to get them redone

Nails grow out, that's just what happens

I get mine shortened and backfilled once a month (LCN/gel nails, not acrylics)

So I made the retard mistake last year of buying a white jacket. It is decidedly dingy and gross looking this year.

As a result, I took advantage of the half off sale at Old Navy and ordered this:

I went to Old Navy this week looking for some good red things to wear to NCSU games and saw their coats.

They have some cute styles, but I hate the way they feel. They're so thin and cheap feeling, and the "wool" feels like paper.

[Edited on November 6, 2011 at 6:40 PM. Reason : I was sad because there was a cute red cropped jacked I wanted]

diva - i was thinking about this earlier and related to your previous comment, so you can probably give me some ideas. what are some clothing stores you would recommend that are about the same price point as a place like old navy, but doesn't feel as cheap? does any such place exist?

I kind of like that their jackets are thin. It doesn't really get cold enough down here to don a full out coat And I would never buy one of these things at full price that's for sure.
