LINDA
ok so I hit up forever21.com and this was the first thing that popped out at me. I know you like to have fun with your stuff, but still keep it classic. So I think this top does that (AND it shows off your tits and arms ) http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=top_dressy&ProductID=2005756979&VariantID=
OR something like this which is UBER simple, but can be whatever you make it when you add jewelry http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=top_camis_tanks&ProductID=2081259131&VariantID=
Then you can throw a fun jacket over it when it's cold at night http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=outerwear_leatherpu&ProductID=2083316161&VariantID=
With a simple yet fun long necklace

Ladies! I'm hoping you can help me with a work dilemma.
We have a dinner party coming up and I'm in charge of coordinating it. Right now I have no centerpiece planned, but it looks like I managed to reign in the budget enough to be able to afford some.
I found these at Pier 1 the other day that I really like but they're too expensive for what I need.
http://www.pier1.com/Catalog/CandlesFragrance/tabid/976/CategoryId/105/ProductId/33872/ProductName/Harvest-Candle-Ring-Set/Default.aspx
Does anyone know of something similar on clearance right now that is under $10? 11/9/2011 1:34:35 PM |

have you gone by Michaels? I bet you could put something together with their silk flowers/votives
In my family for our holiday centerpieces, we bake a cornucopia pastry, it's not too hard to do the real thing, and put seasonal stuff next to it and then leaves from outside (inspect for ickies)
here's betty crocker's recipe http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/pastry-cornucopia/aef7c9a1-d0a7-45ec-a42b-dd24a4c143bc it's just about the same as we do, plus, we also wrap it up real well and use it for next year, again , but you seriously can't tell. Looks good and you can get multiple uses, and it's cheap to do and put together.
(the cornucopia idea probably doesn't work with a work party, but I just wanted to post it about it.)] 11/9/2011 1:49:05 PM |

Yup you could totally do that by yourself at Michale's. Get a hot clue gun, a candle and hit up their flower section. 11/9/2011 1:56:38 PM |

Yeah except if I buy craft supplies on my procurement card, then I get hassled endlessly by accounting on my I'm using department funds on craft supplies and why didn't I just buy something from a preferred vendor blah blah blah. When I made cupcakes for a function rather than just ordering a cake from a supermarket, even though cupcakes were cheaper, I had to spend weeks justifying the purchase. It's seriously just easier for me to buy something like this rather than make it.11/9/2011 6:03:48 PM |
DivaBaby19 Davidbaby19 45208 Posts user info edit post |
ya know...all that stuff you just said doesn't help after the fact...maybe give reasoning like that before you ask a bunch of people that talk about making things on their own 95% of the time? 11/9/2011 6:13:04 PM |
wolfpackgrrr All American 39759 Posts user info edit post |
Except I don't have weeks to get it settled; event is next week and I just found out I have some extra funds And it's seriously not worth my time to debate this sort of crap with accounting when event planning is only 10% of my overall job. 11/9/2011 6:18:01 PM |
DivaBaby19 Davidbaby19 45208 Posts user info edit post |
I guess you didn't read what I said.
You may have gotten some great places to shop had you given that reasoning beforehand, instead of "go to michaels"
Now...go to big lots as well...they seem to sell table decor like its going out of style. Your normal stores like Targets & K-Marts will also have decor.
You can even get shit extra cheap from Pottery Barn after the season (or really close to the holiday) if you wanna step it up a notch 11/9/2011 6:20:35 PM |

In NYC Shiseido used have this cool free makeup training session you could go to. It was an hour and they gave you all sorts of tips and tricks. The one that I remember the best from it is rather than trying to draw a continuous line when putting on your eyeliner, do super short strokes to make points along your eye, then connect the dots. That way you have an even line every time 11/9/2011 10:00:53 PM |

so here's what's up:
I went out looking for tops like Erica had picked, and instead I found some leather boots for 50% off. I had been looking for an amazing pair of boots for a while and I couldn't find any that I liked, so I had given up my search. But I found them. And they were on sale.
Then I was thinking about what to wear with them, but I couldn't think of anything in my closet. So I tried on some things in the store. I was the only person there and the sales lady helped me pick out some stuff. She looked like a younger, prettier Donatella Versace so I trusted her.
I ended up with a mini skirt (so on me it's like a micro mini). I was a little hesitant at first because I normally don't show off a lot of leg, and oh my goodness it was on sale for EIGHT DOLLARS. I had to buy it, it was only $8. I think I'm going to wear the boots and the skirt, plus black tights (to cover my ugly ass knees) and a black long sleeve crew neck top.
But thennnnnnnnnn I was thinking - what about colored or textured tights???????
Erica what do you think?] 11/10/2011 6:01:59 PM |

Definitely go for a pattern
or do what I do when I get bored with things and throw a fun color on (love some HUE colors) and then put a black pattern on the top so the color peeks through
This
Over This
or any other color

Seems a little harsh, but its fun when a little leg is poking out between a boot and a mini
(and your legs stay warmer than just wearing a pattern/textured tight with all them holes) 11/10/2011 11:05:56 PM |

A little update on my hormone issues and such (as if anyone cares):
I changed my vitamin (prenatal, girlie doc suggestion) and added more milk and yogurt to my diet, and added a lot of good carbs back in to my diet (I had been cutting as many carbs as possible due to insulin resistance) I am drinking nothing but milk and water (this really only due to the fact that I haven't wanted anything else) and anyways, I have tons more energy, i'm falling asleep faster and waking up refreshed before the alarm, and not crying at random times.
I've also lost 7 pounds! 11/11/2011 3:10:47 PM |
