the walls are a midnight blue...

the trim is a creamy white from the chair rail down...



the trim color is REALLY nice...i just don't want there to be TOO much...but maybe since the walls are so dark the more light furniture I have the better...the contrast of the brown is really pretty though

I'll probably make my decision after I see how that little table looks painted brown...

we have this whole "rustic" thing going in the office now...

my office is midnight blue, one office is coffee brown, one is like a tobacco gold, the other is a camel color...the final one will be like a pea soup green...

the colors sort of suck on their own but look fabulous together

I almost left the apt without a shirt on. I had everything in my hands and I rushed down the steps to my front door and it felt so chilly. I had to run back up throw everything I had in my hands onto the couch and then find my shirt, then grab everything again and run out the door

I think today looks like a perfect day for a friday meltdown

Thanks for the pictures; that makes all the difference. The wall color looks good. It's almost impossible to decide what color something should be without knowing the other colors in the room

From the pictures it is hard to tell, but why does the desk need to be painted? It looks like the color works pretty well right now with the wall and the trim.

However, if you were to paint it, and given it is a professional environment, I think that a darker steel or graphite (basically a dark grey) type color would go really well with the paint you have. Given the vertical, privacy board and the edge trim and stuff you have some opportunities to go two-tone if you wanted with a dark grey and a bright white (slightly different than the creamy white) or a dark grey and a light grey.

However, if I painted the desk with a grey, I would be inclined to do the same with the printer table, or paint the printer table white to make it kind of disappear and leave the contrast to the desk.

and it really needs to be refinished, but that's never going to happen so paint it is. the color it is now has a WHOLE lot of red in it and it clashes with everything else in the office. it's old and in pretty rough shape finish-wise

gotcha. Well that sucks because I think it would go really well in your specific office. I guess I didn't realize that all of the individual rooms had to tie into an overall color scheme.

In that case, white is probably the safest choice. I was giving grey since you said staining wasn't an option and you were looking for other options besides white. There weren't too many other color options that came to mind with an office environment like I am envisioning from the pictures.

Personally, I am not a fan of painting furniture brown. I think 9 times out of 10 it just looks awkward. If it is a brownish color, you expect to see some sort of grain to it (be it laminate, stamped, or real, stained wood)

I agree with you there...i just think the brown will be so dull and boring...

that's why i think i'm just going to paint the outside edge brown...just for a little contrast...besides...i have a gallon on enamel in the trim color and only a quart of the brown...hahaha

ah yeah I can see the wear close up too. I think that idea (especially given the paint you have available ) is a good one and will probably fit into the overall scheme nicely.
