Ahhh ideeli temptation... I REALLY want this sexy leather dress

http://www.ideeli.com/events/68322/offers/2893802/latest_view/1699918

Should I get it? Would it look too hoochy? I'd love that for parties and trips to Vegas.

I like it and don't think it is hoochy. Don't get me wrong, with the right shoes and accessories it would be the perfect Vegas hoochy. But I think it is a great winter sheath dress that could be worn to holiday parties or other dressy functions.

nothing about that dress is hoochie

leather is tough to wear though...it tends to look boxy unless you get it completely tailored to your body. It's just there if that makes sense, not much drape and all that.

its a great silhouette and would be more work appropriate than party in vegas

LOL considering I work with basically all IT dudes, I could NEVER wear that to work. I get enough weird comments in conservative jeans and a cardigan. Plus, a leather dress is a bit on the wild side for my particular company.

That said, it looks like the perfect party dress. Is black better than the tan version? Black seems sexier, but maybe the brown is more versatile for daytime?

That dress doesn't have a whole lot of shape to it. Combine that with the pockets, and it looks a little like she stepped inside one of those oversized purses.

I think you should tailor it, like diva said, that would be super sexy.

and yes, black

Look at the brown dress...its normal. I think that's her hands in the pocket making it flair...and I kinda wish the dress had a little poofyness after the waist...it would be way more fun than a basic shift

Yeah, I'll shop around. Was tempted by the great price on the dress, but a skirt is a better option since I know I'd wear it more.

You know if I had a lot more money to do with as I please I would spend a shit ton of it at MacKenzie-Childs. Seriously, I've been to both of their stores in New York and I loooooove everything. It's so unique. But also so expensive. (This is on my mind because I just got their newest catalog). I would start with this cake stand

I switched to toms deodarant recently, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. Maybe it's the scent I chose (apricot), but I don't feel dry. :-/

And of you use toms or another brand like it?

I've used the unscented Tom's and liked it.

I actually really hate the deodorant I have right now. I think it's Sure. I'm not even sure where it came from since I never buy that brand. I need to remember to buy a stick of something else next time I'm at the pharmacy.

I used Tom's lavender. It did not keep me fresh or dry all day so I had to reapply multiple times and I am wondering if that is what caused the little rash to form. I would like to get away from antiperspirant but I guess I am allergic?

if the concern is sweating, certain-dri will make your armpits a desert

but its definitely not all natural and i'm sure will cause armpit cancer at some point

i use it anyway though b/c sweat stains are not sexy

I found that degree super strong (or whatever their maximum thing is) for women works the best for me. I used to have to use the prescription stuff but it irritated my skin too much. Since I've lost weight I notice I don't sweat as much day to day as I used to.

so, I pretty much never wear make up, I could count on two hands the amount of times I've worn make up, and each of those times someone else has put it on for me. I have fairly sensitive skin and my lips dry out easily.

if you take all that in to consideration where is the best place to go to get someone to show me the right products to buy and how to apply it to make it look natural? what brands do you guys suggest? I don't mind investing a decent bit of munnies on some good basic make up.

Nordstrom, go to one of the counters, like Clinique.

Or Sephora, but their sales people are hit and miss. I had a really great experience, but have heard from others who did not. Sephora won't know as much about skin concerns and such, whereas, I've always felt Nordstrom does. (or Macys, or a department store with makeup counters).

^^^ With some friends, we went up to a Clinque counter at Southpoint. A man over from Estee Lauder (his official name tag said that, but he apparently knew several different counters) came over and assisted, and he was absolutely wonderful. Showed me everything, explained differences between foundations, very nice.

In terms of deoderant, I just started using that Dove deoderant that's supposed to make your armpit hair fine, and less noticeable. So far, I think it's made a noticeable change for the better

idk about their makeup b/c i haven't used it but i will never again use anything other than that clinque moisturizing gel. it's the freaking tits. for sensitive skin i highly recommend it

as for lips, get some nivea chapstick. the regular blue kind. srsly.

edit: forgot to post about what i came into the thread for just tried those sally hanson nail wrap things. LOVE. if they really lasts 10 days i will be ecstatic. this shit is perfect for people who never sit still long enough for the nails to dry and then smudge them all to hell (aka me)

Those nail wrap things look so cool. I always see them on pinterest and they seem convenient. If I stop biting my nails, I'll try them.

Does anyone here wear perfume? If so, what do you wear? I never have, but had a wild hair and bought Lilly Pulitzer Beachy off ideeli yesterday. I'll test it at a store before it comes in. If it doesn't "fit" me, I'll give to one of my little cousins for Xmas.

I love perfume, and that's one of the biggest things I miss about working at Saks I would wear a different scent everyday.

But I'm crazy particular, I don't like the ones that finish with that alcohol smell...and I like soft scents. Not big on the musks and whatnot.

My go to scent is Coco Mademoiselle from Chanel
I also wear No. 5 a lot
Diorissimo (Christian Dior)
Love, Chloe
Jasmal from Creed

I pretty much cycle between those thru the week. I just started wearing Gucci as well, its nice, and Narcisso in the silver bottle....I forget the name of it

it's the only thing i've ever worn that i can't smell on myself but others can smell on me...and everyone i meet always says "YOU SMELL SO GOOD"...

so i stick with it

Sigh. These boots look like they have wonderful leather, and I do like the style (I'm sure if they were tall boots, they would've been sold out by now), but I'm not sure how to wear them..

What do you think? I'm normally jeans and a shirt kinda girl, would these still rock that style? Would I have to wear skinnys, or would bootcuts work ok?

Helps.
