^its kind of tough to grasp the rational youre using and advice that you seek.

you should evaluate your desire to 'proper date' a lady. sounds like youre doing well enough. why are you not converting on bringing them home with you, and just settling at the point of getting a number. if your looking to follow up on getting these numbers, you should make a call the next day, and ask her to have drinks with you...following up the next day or 2 is crucial. youre not going to be good at dating if you dont exert some effort man.

A lot of people interpret waiting 3-4 days as 'playing the game'. Not calling back or >1 week is just flaky / not really interested.

The larger problem afoot is that you're not upfront about what you want to yourself or to women you're talking to. Just meeting someone and getting their number leaves a lot unclear. Maybe they just want someone to hook up with from time to time. You have no way of knowing, nor do you know anything particularly meaningful about them. This is why meeting people in bars isn't exactly a good long term strategy

If you were clear about what you wanted and what dating had to offer you wouldn't have hesitated to call any of them. Decide what you want, ignore the dating 'rules', and be prepared for strikeouts.

Yeah, it sounds like you could use a change. Why don't you try a little stress relief? Try to find something like a sport where you can work out a little aggression and have a bit of fun. I think we all have periods of discontent and walk around with a shorter fuse than usual. There's nothing wrong with getting angry and picturing beating the fool with someone as long as you don't act on it. If working off some stress and aggression doesn't help, it certainly wouldn't hurt to seek professional help. Especially if you think that you might be running short on self control.
