I put very little stock in what Hodge is currently running his mouth about on Twitter. Wasn't he saying the exact same thing during the early signing period? I got what I posted from the scout/rivals premium boards, which I think are way more credible than Hodge.

The private boards are pretty bad for people with "sources" as well. Not monkey board bad, but pretty bad.

The only person I'd put any stock into on those boards would be James, Steve, and Gravis...none of which have said anything regarding Jefferson other than "commitment might be in the next few weeks". Usually, their silence on a situation is more telling than anything they ever post.

Not sure if/how Hodge knows anything. I generally get the feeling he likes to post shit just to get a reaction and make sure Pack fans are still talking about him so his legacy is still fresh

Erroneous, James was the one who posted that AJ was down to State and UK. Also Gravis' source was Larry Harris who isn't on the staff anymore so I wouldn't put much stock into what he posts these days.

^^Well, I mean he played for a coaching staff that isn't here any more and he's currently living overseas.

I realize he likely knows a lot of players and boosters

I know in this technological age all he has to do is call/tweet/whatever someone close to the program... I dunno, just rambling. Like I said, I wonder if he actually knows something, if his tweet was a "hopeful" tweet with no actual info, or if he's just trying to get some attention

Interesting...didn't know that.

I do know that Gravis still plays golf with a bunch of bigtime boosters and WPC employees, and he's made some comments (mostly in chat, not the boards) about Debbie Yow fighting with the WPC, things that happened at practice, and stuff like that that makes me think he still knows some "inside" people.

Not sure if he knows anyone on the coaching staff, however, but he tends to still have somewhat of a pulse on things. I think he's stopped posting as much because of the whining minority if something doesn't pan out gets all upset and pissy about it

I knew Gravis was always a Herb fan...I guess being friends with Harris explains it

Gravis and Larry were tight...but he's close with the whole athletic department and was before Herb and company even got there. He might not have quite the inside track that he use to...but if he posts something, its usually on point.


As for Hodge...I'd put as much stock into him as you do PackInsider or reading tweets from Tyler Lewis or Purvis. He knows what the players tell him because they're his friends. So he can get good vibes, but he can also overreact to some player having a good visit and saying "can't wait to play pick-up with you in Raleigh next year Jules!!!"

He played golf with Harris and Towe just about as much if not more than anyone other than Lowe.

He had some legit contacts. but so did troutman, who still does.
