somehow, i doubt you've actually met much state fans... and only a fool would base an opinion of a fanbase based on how the students react... student reaction = 30X regular fanbase reaction

^from what i saw at the maryland game, it looked like all of the throwing was started by the non student sections

ya i mean i dont agree with how the maryland players handled themselves and all, i just think its funny you guys are all like "Oh we're so classy and respectable", sounds like carolina fans crying after a loss

did anybody see when the maryland guy made a field goal (on the murphy center end zone) and one of our fans caught it and held on to it? the maryland ball boys (3, two students and one old guy) jumped in the stands, ran the guy down (although he was just standing, not taunting or anything) -he had put the ball on the ground, guess he thought he could keep it-and starting yelling at him and grabbed the ball away. it was funny, but the poor guy didnt deserve to be treated that way. a nice "can i have the ball back" would have been sufficient. then the ball boys proceeded through the section with their hands raised like they were cool or something...you know, since they were obviously doing so much to help maryland win

Considering that I have been to two games here, including yesterday's game against Maryland, I'm pretty sure that I've encountered a large number of NC State fans. You guys just can't accept the fact that you lost, Philip and T.A. unfortunately played like shit, and you can't blame it on Kiker this time. Our team went 7-5 this year and 4-4 in the ACC; we've been inconsistent this entire season. Hey, at least we've got one thing going for us, though....We didn't lose to Carolina.

oh no, i'm fine with the fact that we lost... but what happened before and after the game is inexcuseble...

and going to two games means precisely dick... i've been to a lot more than that and been around ncsu fans my entire life, i think i'm fairly safe in saying that i know ncsu's fanbase better than you do...

not making any judgements on kiker, and not blaming...but you CAN say had kiker made all his kicks we would have had those points. we don't know whether or not TA's fumbles would have been TDs.

Well, maybe you'll get a job after you graduate then, perhaps as the psychotherapist for the football team after they go 4-8 next year and lose to Duke and get de-fucking-stroyed by ohio State. Are you going to cry after you lose to Carolina as well and say their fans are bad sports (even though they are)...I don't care about student fans, but I think that everyone here takes football a little too seriously. Stop acting like Carolina fans and just accept your loss...there was no way that you were going to win in the last four seconds anyway, so just get over it and move on.

that's a great line from someone who chooses to refer to herself as "gatorfan"...

after this weekend when Bobby Bowden is receiving his yearly death threats we can talk about who takes football more seriously

it's becoming glaringly apparent that you don't know much about ncsu athletics, or college football in general...

i dont think we're overrated...i mean we haven't been rated for a while now. highly supported by people in the area, who think state athletics are the best in the world, would be a better description

actually, i believe there was an nfl team who scored two touchdowns in 8 seconds to win a game. that's an average of 1 touchdown per 4 seconds. anything is possible, and we could've won the game in the last 4 seconds. too bad the maryland bench decided to rush across the field and attack the nc state players when the play was still live.

i'm not really upset about the loss. i'm only bothered by the behavior of the maryland players before, during, and after the game. also, the maryland band's actions post-game were pretty disrespectful.

Exactly. Plus, we would have had a first down because of the penalty on that should have been called on Maryland.

It's not like we had to score in that 4 seconds, we just had to score on that play. We could have played for 5 more minutes if we ran around and lateraled and whatever and scored.

I just finished writing an email to Lee Fowler about Maryland's conduct at the game, as well as at previous games. I would suggest that others do the same.

I hate to noob like this, but i have to bring up Maryland's conduct at the Maryland/UVA game this year. They started the game off with a 15 yard penalty. And after the game, yes it was their home field, they jumped around like people on the wheel of fortune for half an hour.

The opening sequence is what pisses me off. The schedule given to all people involved with the game specifically said that we (the band) step off for the pregame show for this game at 21:00 till the game. Fridgen claims that he was sticking to his word by leaving at 20:00. NICE TRY PORKO NINO YOU WERE TOLD TO BE GONE BY THEN, either that or you cant read. Then after beng told by our directors and drum majors to leave, the coaches refused. Then a played has the gall to run straight at out drumline, breaking a drum in the process, knocking down a few people and hitting a girl in the process (yes, this happened, i was in the band, right there watching) That was uncalled for. They sure as hell better be footing the bill for a new bass drum. You better bet that the basketball teams gonna get hell this year from us just for being associated with the team.
As for the postgame celebration, if you had just won a shot at the Gator Bowl, wouldnt you celebrate the same? (NOTE: throwing stuff was uncalled for on their part).

I've talked with some officials on your band...and I'd like to back you up and futher point out what happened. Not only did a player rush through your line, but a Maryland coach told him directly "Just run through them"...your directors are looking into pressing assault charges right now

i understand that but i was just pointing out that we aren't the only team around which they have been douchebags. they ran all over the place and acted like morons before and after the UVA game. thats all i'm saying. i think that the fact that this is the second time they've done this in only a few games proves that their players, coaches, and band have no class. I wholeheartedly agree that they are classfree. in fact before the game i was working with chuck-it. one maryland fan said "we don't recycle in maryland" my immediate response, having lived in northern virginia for a while, was "oh well no wonder your state smells" i just wanted to make that point that they've done stupid crap like this before, the only difference was they got penalized for it and they were at home.

maryland has acted like shitheads to UVA for years...

great moment in UVA Pep Band history... they had invited the maryland band to come to charlottesville and play during halftime... maryland's band agreed to come and were given half of the time at halftime to do a routine... 2 days before the game the maryland band sent a letter saying that they had decided not to come to the game...

so now the UVA Pep Band had to fill up 5 minutes of material on the spot... so they went down to the old storage rooms and got out three of the old UVA Marching Band uniforms from the 50's and painted an M over the V...

the day of the game 3 pep band members walked proudly out onto the field with their instruments, a Triangle, a Slide Whistle, and a Washboard... they formed such complex routines as "2 Points Establish a Line" and "3 points define a plane"...

needless to say, the maryland band wasn't too happy about it, but they really couldn't bitch too much...

i guess the point of this story is that maryland arrogance goes back into the 70's, ,this isn't just a new phenomenon

that's honestly how i'd like to see us respond...

something humorous... cutting...

unfortunately, there isn't much room for laughter on a football field (unless our defensive players start telling Knock Knock jokes after every tackle), and while i dont mean any offense to our band, they're far too serious during games (and halftime) to pull something like that off... plus it'd be at maryland next year so that would severely cut into the opportunity for mischief during the game

Such a double standard. If Maryland fans were to throw bottles at us you guys would be enraged.

Yes Maryland is a classless university.

But apparentally so are we... and we can't win football games.
