assuming that they go beyond the pilot and start a series, is each espisod going to be an hour long. if so, splitting the pilot into 2 half hours may be the single most gay act ever achevied by mankind

The pilot is 83 minutes total, thats 2 1-hour shows. A half hour show is just barely 20 minutes of actual programming.

and they assumed it would live up to its media buzz, so splitting it up gave them the ability to promo something @ 9 on two different nights...instead of just one holdover promo @ 10 one night...

its going to just keep dragging out and dragging out with all the mystery , if they don't tell us what the fucking deal is soon, i'm gonna get real fucking pissed, they don't even have to explain everything, just start to explain a few things, hopefully they will start to do it, i realize the pilot is just to hook you, but even the preview for next weeks show doesn't look like we are gonna find out anything new, just raise more questions.

I had already heard about the polar bear so it wasnt shocking..oh well...its better than a killer alien or dinosaurs.
The blonde lazy girl is this shows Kim Bauer...nice to look at, but you still want to see her die.
And yeah, the commercials...the first part went for over 20 minutes without a single commercial, yet this one entered its third break by 822.
Nice touch when the fat guy asked the Iraqi guy who he fought with and he said the Republican Guard.

the info on digital cable for this episode said something about an animal that shouldn't be in tropical climate, and then there was a picture of a polar bear in the comic the kid was reading, so i figured thats what it was too, but thats definatly not the giant thing that killed the pilot, so there still could be dinosaurs/aliens/monsters

That polar bear looked a hell of a lot like a big, white wolf. Didn't look very bearish to me. But they didn't show much of it, either.

I noticed a bit of a discrepancy when Charlie was having his flashback. IIRC, when Jack had his flashback, he was sitting down in his seat talking to the lady across the aisle when Charlie and the stewardesses ran past. In Charlie's flashback, Jack was standing in the aisle beside the restroom when Charlie ran past.
I couldn't tell if I was seeing/remembering things wrong, or if there is some type of hidden message in there, or if it was just a bad editing mistake.

I also had a question about how the hell that French girl's message had been running for 16 years. What power source is it using? Maybe Captain Nemo is powering it. Or maybe she lived long enough (or is still living) to make some type of power generator. Maybe the new survivors will run into that chick who has been living in a cave for 16 years. And I could have sworn it was either a 6 or 7 digit number that was being called out as the counter, which leads to run times of 2 days or 360ish days. (Even an 8 digit number only equates to 9 years ... if the number starts with 1, which I believe it did. Well, maybe if it was about 1.7e8 then that would equate to 16 years for a 30 second message.)

in jack's flashback, jack was talking to the woman across the isle. he was about to get up to go to the restroom as charlie ran past and was being chased by one of the attendents

in charlie's flashback, charlie did pass jack as jack was about to get up. but the attendent wasn't right behind charlie like he was in jack's flashback
