It's almost creepy being the same age my parents were when they had me. I'm too damned selfish to raise a kid right now.

By definition it is selfish, but it's not the bad kind of selfish.

Trust me, not having kids is the absolute best thing you can do for the state of the world.

(not you personally, of course)

"I got out of a serious relationship my last semester of college...and I was one of those girls that always had a boyfriend in college...so I went a little crazy for a while...that went on for a bit, went through a few boyfriends that lasted like four months, really just enjoyed being single for a while, recently got involved in a relationship that is making me very happy...but marriage isn't on my mind and probably won't be until I get a little more settled as far as finishing grad school, starting a career, etc."

umIdontCare, i have almost the exact same story. except i started working after i quit grad school and started dating my b/f simultaneously...almost 2 yrs now.

time flies.

we'll see about marriage...there's plenty of time, but the whole driving 5 hrs round trip every other weekend thing is getting old. so maybe it'll get pushed up a bit. who knows?

Yikes...five hours? Where do you guys live?

Mine lives an hour and a half away...which I guess it's weird that we started something not living in the same place...but we've known each other since junior year of college.

What the hell happened in the world to make everyone so opposed to marriage? When my husband and I got engaged people were like, "Oh, you're getting married? I'm sorry." Why? The only thing we lost by getting married is a couple hundred bucks off our cell phone bills.
