Friday Burke announces at 11:00 or 11:30am.
Friday has a practice open to the media. So we'll actually have a few pics and a little info to tide us over for a month.

Brandon Jeffries (OL transfer from UT, 5* recruit three years ago) will not attend NC State. The hours didn't transfer or something.
linky
That's gay. Was hoping he'd provide a little bit of depth on the line

Crezdon Butler to Clemson is official. Dang. Didn't really expect him to come here, but it would have been a nice surprise. Guess we'll just have to beat the hell out of Clemson on the playing field.

^remeber it is not over yet

i know that he is close to home, and a solid commit for the tigers, but with a good season i think that we will get another CTC schocker......Carl Johnson, Crezdon, Brandon Spikes, or whichever the best tarhole commit that we want to pluck

hopefully all goes as planned with burke tomorrow and i think that with this and a good/great season the recruiting dominoes will fall in our favor

What schools are in Burke's final list? I know us, Kentucky and Purdue are. Anyone else?

louisville- some say he's headed there.

I still think because of the way James Henderson over at pack pride is acting that burke is coming here.

purdue has that pass-happy offense though . . . what QB wouldn't want to go there?

I think with a solid season this year and some hype getting behind Trestman we'll have a chance at stealing some QB's or picking up some ones later.

On the topic of that Louisville thread, why are sports boards always full of total assholes?

This reminds me of the Charlotte board that was ripping into us before we blew them out in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

Somebody should tell those guys to be nice or we'll get the Panthers to cut their beloved rookies from UL, hehe.

the charlotte observer also had a blurb about Jeffries. They said that he was still waiting to get his grades from community college, and then see if he could transfer in. Chuck didn't say anything like "Brandon won't be here next season" so maybe there's still hope?

Lemarcus Bond got offered by Miami....we will see if we can get a guy for the first time that holds an offer from the canes

almost happened with Roscoe Parrish, but i am fairly sure that other than that a miami offer has been curtains for NCSU's chances

So now that we got Burke on board and and Greco as an option in the coming years also that we should be able to land a blue chip 4 or 5 star receiver?

^^Yeah I was wondering the same thing.

Program prestige at that position should help but hasn't here as of late. I think Trestman is going to have the biggest influence in that area. If we have a good offense this year and Trestman stays, then I think we'll have a good chance at landing a few good WR's.

he signed a 4 year contract, and said he came here to have some stability in his life

no gurantees, but these are good signs for a long term relationship with chuck/trestman/ncsu

^ True. How long was Norm under contract for? Considering he was at BYU for 20+ years, I kinda expected him to stay longer than a year.

Trestman shouldn't as big of a pull for WR's as our Wide Receivers coach is. Dixon is a stud and the coach that I expect to leave first (for a head coaching job or big program OC). He has the resume and the results. Can't wait to see what he does with the talent that we pull in.

^Yeah but Trestman is going to have to call plays that show off our passing game. If we become a completely run-based team you can count out pulling in big named WR's. I think Dixon helps with his credentials, but I think Trestman opening up our playbook and throwing the long ball(not just screens and reverses) to show off our WR's is going to be crucial. If high school WR's don't see us throwing the ball much, why would they want to come here and play so they can just block for our RB's?

Darrell Jackson is the only one that I think is doing well. Dont know enough about Hillard and the jury is still out on Caldwell

^Yeah but I thought coming in he said he was going to adjust his type of offense to suite what we have. And I think our running game is the strength of our offense if our line can stay healthy. Now this is based soley on what I saw last year with a consistently injured Hall(hamstring), no Hicks(glad he's back) and now seeing that Richard Washington is no longer with the team. Right now if our WR's come in and are all healthy and play to their potential then yeah I could see us really opening up the playbook and baffling some teams with a nice balance of draws, runs up the middle, PA passes, and the deep threats. I mean potential wise we are as good as Jay Davis and our offensive line allow us to be. I just hope all of our talented pieces fit together this year and solve this puzzle as to why we can't dominate in the ACC.

clark/hall/hicks give us enough options

if we are a passing team or not this season, my main point is that trestman will still be able to sell future qb's/receiver recruits

Yeah I think Trestman will be a big help in getting WR's like I said earlier, but I also think he'll have to show everyone something this year. His credentials aren't saying much if he comes in here this year and our offense is just as bad as last year's. But I really don't expect it to be, because the play calling last year didn't make much sense(now a few were great, but most were horrid) and I think Trestman will be much better.

on another not

word is that Newell is not all that happy down here (WR recruit that just started practice)...I am sure he is just homesick, but he has 3 other guys from his high school on the team (2 bedics, kushner) so hopefully that will help

seems he will not stay at WR and is having a tough time finding a position, hopefully if we redshirt him he will stay with the program

Didn't Dunlap and Darby have Canes offers? And I'm pretty sure they're both from Hollywood, FL, which is right in Miami's backyard. I think we're plenty capable of landing a recruit that the Canes have offered, especially in light of their season last year (not that NC State's was great or anythign).

^i am not sure.....i will look into that, there is a good chance that they had "canes interest" and not an "official offer" from the canes....i lived in that area for the last two years, and to those guys getting a chance to play for the canes would be like a local kid getting a chance to play for duke/carolina in hoops
