I pointed out that his caching was negatively user-visible, a desperation optimization, and reaked of "omg my running website is overloaded what can I do," and it went downhill from there as all such TWW brutal encouters with real awesome fact do.

When you actually run a site that people go to in bulk, you'll learn to appreciate tiny optimizations that, while they may seem stupid and trivial to you in all your experience-lacking wisdom, do actually make a difference.

Please accept that a message board is one of the simplest applications in existance, and one of the most trivial problems a trained computer scientist could hope to encounter. Or don't, and by way of which, trivialize your own opinion-- however, if you choose this route, please at least quit sharing your opinion, as well.

^I'm not sure load is high enough anymore for me to exploit it without it qualifying as an actual DOS, I think he's upgraded the server since back then when it was quite common for the server to block for 10-15 seconds. If the load is high enough to recreate it without a DOS, you can recreate it yourself: just double-click post message. It might take a couple tries, but you will get a double-post where both posts have the same time. If you wrote a little script to connect to the server and sent a buffer or two full of the same HTTP request, or had a dumb proxy or something, you could get dozens like BobbyDigital used to do regularly. If you pegged your upstream with the request from a couple accounts, you could probably get hundreds to thousands of posts before flood control kicked in. If you had a few dozen accounts and did this from ResNet, you could block the server until you got tired of it.

"Bugs". I mean I guess it is naive to think that no one is going to mess with your site but with enough users we eventually land on a fuck bag like you. The burden of proof still does lie with you.
