Yeah, freakin turnovers

We looked like NC State out there handing the ball to their defenders all day. Well, other than the whole "the Redskins actually moved the ball down the field before the turnover" thing

can't sleep and this game is still making me sick.

how we get 23 first downs to their 17, convert half our third downs, hold the ball ten minutes longer than they do, outgain them on the ground 185-61, complete a higher percentage of passes, and are a 3rd and 1 from winning the game... and lose? it felt like kansas city and denver all over again, except losing to a punk like gruden makes it twice as disgusting.

between the galloway "force out" call in the first quarter, the galloway phantom catch that was reviewed and not overturned, and mike alstott having the elbow of the ARM HOLDING THE BALL down feet from the goal line on the two-point conversion, this whole game just felt fishy. it's hard enough to win on the road in the NFL anyway.

there goes any semblance of playoff discussion.

why did we stop handing the ball off in the second half? a little controlling the clock and getting first downs would've helped against all those big plays the raiders were making. a little defensive pressure w/o blitzing would've helped, too. fuck.

the three game losing streak is over. the alstott blown call, the flat-out ugly performance against oakland, and the choke against the chargers... history. we don't exactly control our own destiny, but it's close

I was at the chargers game which was a terribly deflating loss... holding on to that one.. raymer not holding before the hall FG attempt.. and that game was iced, and playoff discussion would still be reasonable

but hey, let's talk about winning out! our record would be 10-6
my math breaks down as such:
4-0 and one other giants loss wins the division.
4-0, but giants winning all besides against us (11-5), and we need a wild card.

Assuming the buccaneers (8-4) would have to lose 3 games to relinquish a spot to us (they hold a tiebreaker), we'd be fighting the cowboys, falcons, and vikings (all 7-5) for a spot. so winning out and counting on the vikings (still have to play the bears and steelers) and falcons (still have the bucs and panthers) to lose, isn't unreasonable.

That is, of course, if we beat Arizona on Sunday. That's the first step to winning out.

ok, so NOBODY lost that we needed to lose today. giants & vikes, that is. the giants did get shitloads of injuries, however, which bodes well for them possibly laying an egg next week vs. kansas city.

but at least we beat arizona. momentum, and the boys and g-men the next two weeks at home. i'll be at both games. great defense today when we needed it. sean taylor is a man among boys.

HAIL.

Brunell threw 3 ints in the redzone today. I'm glad we won but his performance has just sucked over the past 4 weeks.

If we win out then we're in more than likely. Tying Dallas in the standings next week with a win and then beating the giants (and if they lose another) then we're tied for 1st and get the tie breaker for sweeping Dallas. It can happen!

HAIL!

just got back from DC.

before the game on the radio sonny and sam mentioned how it was possibly the biggest game EVER in fedex field... and the crowd showed up. a bunch of false starts in the first half... and i've been to a couple other "sell-outs" this season and it wasn't packed and loud like it was tonight.

i've been going to redskins games since i was like 10 and this is the best i've ever been to.

SWEEP!!!
