Duke is the top team this year because of the balance of their inside game and outside game. Redick, Melchionni, Paulus, etc. are the reason Williams and McRoberts get such easy looks inside.
^I know, lets talk about how good we as in NCSU will be and not bash Herb for once.

I love it when an idiot completely makes a fool of himself.

Did anyone at any point say that we didn't believe May won (or contributed greatly) to the win? Please learn to read and understand the english language. You cheapen all of our degrees by continuing to be a moron.
What we did say was that a balance of may and guards won it. What we posited was that if the team only had may, williams, and no guards, they would have lost.

haha, do you realize that this only proves my point??? If Illinois was a team only based on the guards, THEY WENT THROUGH ALMOST THE WHOLE SEASON WITHOUT A LOSS BASED ON GUARD PLAY ALONE. How did Uconn do -- a team that arguably only had big man play?

Good for you. Now lets talk about NCSU.
^Rudy Gay, Marcus Williams, and Rashad Anderson are some pretty good guards. 11/17/2005 1:10:19 AM |

when u thought of UCONN last year, Charlie and Coone were the only ones that came to mind
Illi is def. a great example of why Nova will run the table this year because no team has the extreme balance and athletes in every spot like UNC did last year and every 'great' team of the past
without Chris Paul...WF is shit, same for GTech...why because of GUARDS 11/17/2005 1:15:57 AM |

Those two are bad examples, though--the main reason WF and GT are going to suck this year is because they're returning so few players. It's that they're way too young, not that they lack talent at the guard spots.
Aside from that, though, yes, Paul is a good example of a guard who took all those pieces and turned them into a stunning offensive unit.

G Tech lost everything about like UNC, but Hewitt will recruit them back. Resean Dickey (sp?) will be a good player. 11/17/2005 1:20:37 AM |

WF then, only reason they were as good was CP3 puttin it all together
with a motion offense like all these teams, the KEY is the guards, namely the pg
thats why with our system we dont have to have a great one 11/17/2005 1:22:04 AM |

Yeah, you can't have any kind of offense if you can't get the ball upcourt. How can your big men score if you can't even move the ball across half-court? 11/17/2005 1:28:24 AM |
