Is the NL East playing the AL Central this year in interleague? I'd check it up myself, but I'm at work and don't have access to sports sites. 3/3/2006 2:38:48 PM |

^ Damn I thought they were. I was hoping that there might be a chance to catch some NL East teams out here in Kansas this year against the lowly Royals. That sucks. I'd really like to see the Mets, Braves, and Phillies in person this year. Maybe I'll try and catch a Red Sox-Royals game then... 3/3/2006 3:04:51 PM |

He is going to start in the first series still, just not opening day. He wants to stay on a schedule. It's not like he said he is going to miss his first 3 starts...

WTF Major league Baseball?
Why is the game blacked out? I called directv and they said they have no control over who blacks out the games, and it is in this area. 'cause Raleigh is so close to NY I guess.
Is the game on the local cable? 4/3/2006 1:12:51 PM |

I was on MLB.com and it shows raleigh as a blackout area for nationals games, just a guess...

however, that won't happen because the Cards will sweep them in the NLDS 4/3/2006 9:37:23 PM |

Interesting payroll #s this year for the 'Mets always buy players' idiots:
1 NYY 198,662,180 2 BOS 120,100,524 3 LAA 103,625,333 4 CWS 102,875,667 5 NYM 100,901,085 6 LAD 99,176,950 7 CHC 94,841,167 8 HOU 92,551,503 9 ATL 92,461,852
With as much bitching as Braves fans do you would think the Mets have double the payroll... 4/5/2006 3:33:42 PM |

the salary numbers up there, while suprising, aren't entirely accurate
mike hampton, the braves highest paid player, was due $14.5m this year but won't be seeing a penny of it 4/6/2006 11:10:20 AM |

Did they take out the insurance policy? That number stays on the books and goes towards payroll anyway... if Pedro gets injured and doesn't pitch a game that 14M is still on the books but the Mets are covered thru insurance..
oh and Billy Wagner

Haha. He was all over the place. I expected it though considering he only threw 6 innings in Spring and it was FREEZING. He did plunk 3 guys and almost started a bench clearing brawl though. Jose Guillen walked towards the mound with his bat raised and Pedro stood there just staring at him like 'come and get it.' Then Delgado went in front of him and stood there with his arms crossed. Dude looked like Pedro Cerrano..
Great game. Too bad the idiots are all over Carlos Beltran still even though he knocked in 4... 4/7/2006 8:25:31 AM |

I'm going to go ahead an pony up and say, as a devout Braves fan since birth, that the Mets will probably take the NL East this year... makes me sad... but with the pitching staff for the braves being so awful, starting, releiving, and closing, it might seem as if it's inevitable... of course, I said the same thing last year. 4/12/2006 8:34:49 AM |
