Marty schottenheimer is a dumbass for not running the ball with one of the best RB's in the league on his own 4 yard line. especially since the Running game had been doing good. that safety was pretty much schott's fault.

Antonio Gates couldn't have handled the pass from rivers any worse on the INT, tipping it right to a defender.

Brees couldn't do shit and Rivers is thrown in against one of the best defenses in the league, all this AFTER Marty Schottenheimer said that he "has no plans to let quarterback Philip Rivers play in the meaningless regular season finale."

it really wasnt that bad. 12-22, 115yds, and an INT that hit the receiver in the hands. an INT is an INT, but he hit his target, which is a good sign. the offensive line might as well have not even been there. brees was havin the ball knocked out too, so that wasnt just a rivers thing. he also led them on their only scoring drive. i'd say he did pretty well, all things considered, which is basically what dan marino said after the game as well.

Ya, that's what I said earlier to some extent. LT had been doing good, yet they roll out the rookie QB into the EZ. if marty absolutely wanted to pass so bad, they should have done one of those really quick passes that rivers did a couple of times in the 4th quarter.

he wasnt supposed to play...even told he wasnt playing...

yes, macgyver...excuses are excuses, but pick any of those and they are valid. when you have 7 valid excuses for why he didnt play excellent and lead a comeback, you cant ignore any of them.

at least he had some flashes of good play and made some very nice throws. Rivers will do nothing but get better with PT. This isnt Marcus Stone...rivers is actually a football player.

Yeah, Riv did aiight to me. His passes were crisp and accurate (except for the ones at the end). I didn't like that stunt he pulled on the int tackle. It showed me another side of him. But I think he is def gone after this season tho'. Brees is just the correct choice for this team. Riv needs another team.
