Hey, guys. Txs a lot for your support. I'm giving updates about your help, prayers, and ideas to his father. We really believe he is confused, maybe walking, and probably afraid. As family and friends we can't give up, and we won't belive in any other hypothesis, since everyone wants him to come back home safe. Again, there're no words that could express our grattitude.
If you can help, please print some flyers (they're on my photo gallery) and put wherever you think could help find him. You can also send it by email to your friends and relatives that are in other towns, principally if they live in or close to Washington D.C. Ask them to send to their friends.

PS: Perlith, I'm very concerned about the enthusiam. I'm pretty sure that his family and friends will not rest until we find him, but police and media will deffinitelly lose their enthusiam. Ideas are more than welcome.

I'm staff in Civil Engineering. I read the most recent comments about the concern of the media loosing interest in the story, I called WRAL TV and they are running a story this evening on the 6 o'clock news (app. 6:10 PM). The young lady at the news desk I spoke with stated fairly strongly that they are very concerned about this incident, and are not going to give up until there is some information found, she assured me there would be at least bi-weekly mention.

Thanks a lot, SWade. The media is just starting to cover Vitor's disappearance. I'm afraid that in two or three weeks this interest will loose if anything new do not appear. It would be good if more of us could do this, mostly in the weeks to come. Thanks again.

I hope they can just find his body. At least that way they will find some closure. Its terrible to think somebody is gone, but its even worse to never know what happened either way. I wonder if they have considered doing some dragging of the local lakes and rivers to see if they can pull him out or something? I hope I'm wrong, but few of these situations where somebody is gone THIS long and left everything they have often do not have a happy ending. I pray that I am wrong, for he and all of his loved ones.

I didn't know Vitor very well... hardly at all, actually. But he really didn't seem like the kind of guy that would do something like that. I could, however, see him needed to get away from the stresses of life... I'm going to send out some flyers to friends in other parts of the state/US.... has anyone thought about trying to network facebook for this? I know it's kind of like a stalker network so it may not do much good.... but it could get word out to a lot of people. Just a thought.

i saw a guy who looked insanely like him standing on hillsborough st. last night near the library about the cross the road. he was wearing glasses, had longer hair like your friend and had a scruffy face. he was wearing a red and black coat. i think he was carrying a black shoulder bag. this was around 9:30 while riding with a friend, so i didn't get the greatest of looks but as soon as i saw him, it made me think of this guy and the first thing i did when i got back was to check this site.

I'm sorry to hear about Vitor, my bf is a good friend of his, i've met him only a couple times, and he seems like a really great guy. Has anyone called the hospitals askind about John Does? called taxi agencies? airlines? I just checked Lake Johnson through google earth, and I really don't understand why police searched just one of the sides of the lake (we searched the side that is less frequented). The other side is much more crowded, but there's still much more land. What do you think about that, cetsmiles?

^ Generally they would always go to the less frenquently visited part of any site, by doing this they are saying that it holds the highest possibility of finding someone. They assume that since the other area has alot of people traveling through they would have spotted a body if there was one to be seen. However, searching the wooded areas on that side would still not be a bad idea. Also, as I posted earlier if he has aol instant messenger then getting his messages from that would be a huge help I believe. I am sure the police have already contacted the people he last called but he could have been talking to someone online alot easier. For instance if it was someone from Brazil he would probably talk over the internet vs phone because of the expense of long distance calling. Also, if he was trying to be discrete he may realize phone can be looked up but not neccessarily his aim messages.

I live in DC. Why do you think he might be in this area? What area of DC in particular? DC (including the suburbs) is huge. So, if you have a specific place in mind, I can help put up fliers. Do you know where a large Brazilian population is in DC, or where they hang out--maybe some Brazilian clubs? I will also ask around. A lot of people I used to work with are from South America, but none from Brazil. If not I will try popular places for people our age, e.g. G'town, Adams Morgan, etc...

Also, can you make a flier that is better suited for an out of state posting.
Some suggestions...
I.e.
1.West Grove Tower is irrelevant and wastes space.
2. Larger area code 919.
3. Better to put N.C. State University student-- or North Carolina State University.
4. I would place a large "MISSING" at the top then under that put his name.
Then have the pictures on the left and info on the right.

I saw on the news tonight that America's Most Wanted just helped solve a missing persons case. The guy went missingfrom New Rochelle, NY and someone spotted him in Chicago. He was mising for 7months and had amnesia.

They always hear things that happen on campus that we never hear about (cuz they always ask me what happened, and I never heard about it) but they haven't heard about this. Hi,

We are very concerned about the lack of interest. Looks like NC State and the media think he killed himself. However, during this week, Vitor's father and friends got together, and when we put everything together (friends and family have different opinion about people), we decided that he would never kill himself, at least with the information we have in hands. The fact that his fiancee went back to Brazil (she would come back in one year and they would get married) is not enough to say he killed himself. If this was the problem, he could just go back to Brazil (he was here because he wanted. His family went back to Brazil and he decided to stay).
I think he is walking around, thinking about what he is going to do. But foul play may be another explanation. He lives on the first floor of Westgrove tower. The building criminal history is amazing. Every day somebody is arrested, or police is called for some reason. So, crime is a possibility.
Police is not involved as it was (his computer has barely been touched, a taxi driver that may have given him a ride Sunday night has not been called by the police so far, somebody that may have seen him in Subway has not been interviewed...).
The only thing that may work is if everybody that is concerned with Vitor's disappearance could call WRAL, ABC, NBC, FOX and ask them about Vitor's case. If we do this, I'm most sure they will make a move.

This isn't necessarily NC State, this site is not at all affiliated with NCSU, and a ton of users on here are not from NCSU. Just so you know.

But I bet if you called the news station (WRAL) and asked the to help you put something on the air, they would. Or have a newspaper interview the family/friends for a story. And all you have to say is how the police arent doing all that they can and you know that there are sources not being utilized for information, and you will start getting more help. (I know this for a fact from a past experience). Best wishes for finding him or getting any leads as to his whereabouts.
