NC State football couldn't force southern miss to punt.. the entire game; the redskins just took a gigantic dump in dallas; the braves are gonna miss the playoffs for the first time since I was like 8

... all that being as it is, it is so awesome to fire up the DVR on sunday night tonight and for the next 2 months and know, with certainty, that I am about to get as much quality entertainment as is possible to fit in an hour.

this show is pretty much perfect... carcetti and marlo are as characters and actors, i think, notably better than i remembered them being. (which is saying a lot, cause marlo has always been a badass). the guys in homicide with bunk were hilarious tonight too. great storytelling with the back to school clothes, people accepting money and handouts on all different levels of baltimore. and really glad to see cutty again.

is Shamrock still on the streets? How come like a dozen Barksdale cats get locked up and they cant re-up on muscle? Slim Charles seems mentally capable of handling the operation

^ I was wondering the same thing. Brother said he didn't have any beef with Barksdale. I don't see why he's not still working for him after he got his revenge. Did he go back to NY?

On the other hand, I don't know if I'd want to go to war with Chris & Snoop.

omar likes to be the man and eat one too.

this show is good, but it needs a BDW (black dick warning) after showing both omars and the mayors in the past two episodes

did anyone catch omar's boyfriend reading one of the show's writers' (George Pelacanos) new novel?

which reminds me that I was gonna say all the wire fans in this thread (which i think is like 4 people) might be interested in some of the writers' novels...

Dennis Price, who wrote Clockers has a bunch of books and Clockers is really really great

George Pelecanos... I definitely recommend the Nick Stefanos Series .. start with A Firing Offense, then get Nick's Trip, which spends some time in the outer banks NC and wilmington... then check out King Suckerman and The Sweet Forever.

Also Dennis Lehane, who has 5 boston detective novels, and Mystic River, which is amazing

And of course, the aformentioned David Simon^ who wrote The Corner and Homicide: A Year in the Life On the Killing Streets... nonfiction novels.

There's a lot of the wire in clockers, sweet forever, and obviously, Simon's books. All very awesome stuff.

so how are you guys feeling season 4 so far? imo, it's shaping up to be the best season so far, surpassing season 3 (which was my favorite). they introduced great characters with the 4 main kids. they're focusing on the school system and marlo's rise to power with his enforcers, chris and snoop. the mayoral race is turning out to be pretty interesting and it looks like we're going to see a hell of a lot more omar.

overall i think it's a great season.
