what (if any) upgrades have been made to the online mode?

thats really the only reason I want it.

I heard you can now challenge online calls by the REF and it has all but eliminated glitching.

^^not playin online cuz ive heard on other message boards that theyve been bannin folk from online play for playing it before its drop date, dont even use my profile for it...so i cant answer those questions

as far as upgrades go, in a nutshell:

it looks better

runs smoother

gameplay is the best of any football game, coming from someone who thought NCAA07 was one of the best playing football games

lead blocking makes it kinda easy to bust out 10-15 yard runs, but i guess big runs are made on great blocks. same as the case if you whiff the block. you never feel cheated tho, if u fuck up its cause of something youve done

the AI is rough, which is good. the D does alot of audibles (dunno if its programmed this way, but ray lewis was calling alot of audibles, unless it was just a coincedence that his model was doing all the signals before everybody moved

as far as much everything else, i havent spent much time outside of playing against my boys and superstar mode....but i think any football fan will be content with this release

I played last night for a few hours.

They did there work to the servers about 2 weeks ago, and then you could still play, but none of the results were logged.

yep - I played last night for a few hours on 360

Dick Buttkiss - 5'10", 210lb HB - drafted in round 3 by the Colts and won the starting job over Rhodes by the time regular season began. I have somehow managed to make him incredibly fast, but my best 40 time is 4.75. Kinda aggravating playing with Manning and his constant play changing... fucker always audibles out of a run.

Overall impression is that it is a LOT better than 06... just the general feel from top to bottom. I miss owner mode.. and I am no fan of the local commentator bullshit or whatever they want to call it. I miss the national commentators, play by play recaps, etc, etc... guess that is another thing I somewhat miss from the 2k5 game.

I also touched on franchise mode a little. Again... I really miss owner mode here. No fantasy draft...

There's a way to Fast Forward the Defense (if you're playing offense). It should be in the Game Settings, at least this is according to a thread on IGN's boards.

i've got it set so the cpu is playin and i'm just playin my guy when he's in. its goin faster than it would if i was playin, but it would be nice if i didnt have to still sit and watch these plays. oh well. still pretty sweet.

so if you set it to let the cpu be defense you can like let them run defense and you see it but it speeds it up really fast...so its not that bad

nah, it was under options/gameplay when you start a SS game...you change it to cpu. i dont have the game on right now but i can look, its also gotta be under menu too when you do SS mode.

on another note, the fatigue thing needs to get fixed as well. also, apparently when you level up in the game (madden gamer level), hall of famers are unlocked and put onto the free agents list. if you start a new franchise after youve unlocked some hall of famers, they are now available for cpu teams to sign to their teams. theres a way around this...

Then, after the Franchise/Superstar is saved, you could load your profile normally. The above instructions should also apply to Superstar mode as well as Franchise."

i think to get around the Hall of famers getting in your franchise you just make a save of the default roster before you start a franchise, and people say you can then still save your madden gamer level/profile and then when you go to play in your franchise load the default roster file? thats what theyre saying works but im thinking this...

delete your old gamer profile, roster, etc

start the game up fresh and new and make a save of the rosters.

start a franchise (just pick your team) and then save it

then i think from there on out the HOF wont go into your franchise

im not sure about any of us, ill let you know if i find a way to get around it from another site...

I cant believe that the Madden developers thought the majority of players would want random legends poping up in franchise mode. Everyone I know who plays madden likes it to be realistic with the real teams and players. I dont want to be playing the Falcons in my franchise and see Walter Payton taking handoffs from Vick. They should have made this an optional feature that would have to be turned on manually.
