even though theres stuff that says hes 195 w/o the adamantium it kinda doesn't makes sense. he'd had to be superhumanly strong(which is never mentioned) for him to jump around and maintain his agility at 300 lbs. not only that but he gets weaker when it's pulled out of his body if he's 300lbs with it then taking out the burden of over a 100lbs should make him stronger. 6/14/2006 5:17:26 PM |

^^^^^ Ok... I'll be more tactful. I think the author of that article was quite "off the money." In that back when writers such as Chris Claremont and Larry Hama were developing Logan, the characterization was so strong that Wolverine became one of the most dynamic marvel characters. What made Wolverine interesting was the fact that; no he didn't have super fantastical powers such as: controling the weather, or forces of nature; telekinetic or telekinesis powers, or even shooting lasers from his eyes; he could just heal at an extremely accelerated rate. Something all living organism do, just a hell of a lot faster.
Additionally, the author has a running aurgument that Logan is not an introverted character, and he also implys that if a character is not introverted they therfore do not contain any "interior space." Thats just a bogus assertment. Despite Logans involvment with the X-Men he was quite introverted. And an individual isn't necesarily required to be introverted to have what the author cites as "interior space."
I think the author may just have been pushed around a little too much at the age of 17 and finds any character appearing to be a "tough guy" on the outside threatening. But hey! I could be wrong, and way off the money here.
I do agree that marvel has ruined the Wolverine character as of the last ten years, and I'm afraid that Julian Darius is not on the money, therfore scripting a dumbass article.
...But then again, I can be wrong, and off the money aswell. Just as Mr. Darius

when wolverine was first created
the discussion was whether to have him just be a guy in a suit with claws on his gloves
or
whether to have him be an actual humanoid wolverine, i.e., a creature born as a wolverine (the animal) and transmutated by some outside force into man form
i mean, i love the guy for what he is, but i don't attempt to attach anything deeper to him
and i'm no longer sure how i feel about Origins...
although i do love that he is back in brown 6/15/2006 1:24:23 PM |
