I'll be happy as long as Sharapova keeps winning. Nadal and Hewitt could be good in the semifinals. And also, any match with Andy Murray, since he's from GBR, it should be exciting with the crowd getting into it.

^ HH can only win the WC if she has a GG over KC in the SF, but then she would have to prob face AM or MS to get the BT and a spot in the WTA HoF, kkthx

Roddick's career is going down the tubes, he just doesn't have the mental edge

plus he needs to stop slicing 95% of his backhands

^why? I agree with ^^. Besides, he's got a very weak backhand that's always been his weak point. The slice is just an easier shot.

So yeah, I actually agree with you^. He does need to re-learn his backand. Possibly grab an eastern grip swing one-handed hit with topspin and get back to the basics.

I don't understand how he could get that tired with the two-hander anyway...it's a lot less effort than hitting all your backhand shots with the same and only arm you're hitting your forehands with. if you think about it, that left arm is resting between backhand shots, and it's not used for serve, volley, etc. so it should be fresh for the backhands and give even more power. the biggest drawback to the two hander (in my opinion) is the lack of reach afforded by the one-hander.

Hewitt down 2 sets to 1 in the 4th.

and Hewitt is history.

Bags wont be Nadal.

We are looking at another Nadal v. Federer final.

This is sooo funny how similar this is to an early Sampras v. Agassi.

Federer is the quiet, confident player who is setting all of the records, similar to Sampras.

Nadal is the young Agassi with long hair, flamboyance, and fight. Seemingly the only person who can slow down Federer.

If these guys could dislike each other for some reason, this would easily become the greatest INDIVIDUAL rivalry in all of sports...way ahead of Tiger and Phil.

that's a pretty bold statement, especially since neither federer nor nadal have reached the heights of sampras OR agassi. sure federer is great (and is probably one of the greatest ever) but he's still young. and off of clay, nadal is still unproven.

if nadal can make it to the finals and make it interesting for federer, then that would do a lot for your argument.

is it true there was actually a female streaker?

btw I'd say federer's odds to win should be about 1000 to 1 at this point

^^Eh..... if you compare grand slam wins, I'd say Federer is pretty much right there with Agassi already, and at a much younger age. This guy is gonna be winning championships for many many years to come. The only real question left for him to answer is will he ever find an answer for Nadal on clay.

Except that Nadal can beat Federer.

Agassi couldn't consistently beat Sampras (and I hated Sampras for that).

Agassi won the French when he was 29. Federer is 24. Agassi has 8 slams, Federer will likely have that amount Sunday. I'm a fan of both but to say that Federer hasn't reached the heights of Agassi is ridiculous.

^^the main difference is that Federer and Nadal inherited the game at a great time from Sampras, Agassi, etc. when it is getting national exposure at a high level.

When Agassi and Sampras came into the limelight, tennis had sucked for years and hadnt had a great rilvalry since the later stages of Connors v. McEnroe.

Federer is dominant, but one one would care if it hadnt been for Sampras and Agassi.

They were Ambassadors of the game, Fed just runs shit.

^Federer is more of an ambasador to the game than Sampras ever was. He speaks four languages and always gives lots of time to media outlets throughout the world. Sampras never went out of his way to promote the game. When you achieve the #1 ranking, you have an obligation to be the spokesman for the sport and Federer has been lauded by everyone in the sport for his efforts.
