maybe some of my comments on the universities and their status was uncalled for, my better judgement does not prevail when im under the influence of my vicodin prescip. I still maintain my views on the all black schools, however.


for the last time Im not a fucking racist. So what that UNC-G is "historically" all-female and UNC-P is "historically" native-american, they arent today, so that shit is a moot point; and your HCBU's are not "historically" black, they still are. This is as I said, voluntary segregation.

well, sir, that could be attributed to the fact that because of the majority of the population being white, that the majority of college students are *GASP* white. My argument is that I see no need for my tax money to support this voluntary segregation, if everyone wants to be equals, then go to the same fucking schools, yes they ratio of white to black will be heavily white, but this is indicative of the total population. Dont use my tax money to send blacks to a black school, they dont use my tax money to send muslims to an islamic school, so this is along the same lines. I have no problem socializing, interacting, sharing a campus, or hell, even sharing my room with someone of the black race, but I do have a problem with sending tax dollars to segregate ourselves, exactly like I have a problem sending my tax money to fight meaningless wars and the deaths of our own citizens and those of other nations.

Actually, yes they are. If something's historically-something, it doesn't ever cease being that because...well...historically means past. I believe UNC-Pembroke remains the state's leading higher education institution for Native Americans and UNC-Greensboro has a 2:1 female to male ratio.

When the state invited the HBCU's into the UNC system, they did so with the caveat that they increase enrollment of non-African American students. All the HBCUs have done so, with considerable success...outpacing enrollment of African-American students at predominantly white institutions (thus my greater than/less than example).

These "black schools" are more integrated, in terms of whites and blacks, than "white schools." So they're not really "black schools" at all.

well I mean today, UNC-P while still the leader in native-american education in NC, is not an all-indian school, and UNC-G is not a female school, and I doubt it is 2:1 ratio.

once again, there are no "white schools", and the black percentage is less because there is less total black population. And while Im not disputing you completely, of course there are more black students at NCSU or UNC that white students at Eliz City or W-S State because they are PRIMARILY black schools (HBCUs as described), and most white kids dont want to go to a university that is almost 95% black (voluntary segregaiton as well).

1 NCSU-we kick ass (good) the argument could be made to split our 800 million dollar budget among the other schools as we don't need two "flagships"
2 UNC-fags, but they deserve to stay (good) indubitably
3 Elizabeth City State- All black college, one of many, they need to consolidate (worthless)
4 East Carolina (community college) University- Hey, everyone needs a backup school (worthless, but needed) (bloated way past its mission.
5 Fayetteville State University-another all black college, once again-CONSOLIDATE ALL OF THESE INTO ONE OR TWO PLEASE!!! (Worthless)
6 Winston-Salem State- Another all black school- see previous remarks (worthless)
7 N.C. Central- All black school, yet a good one (good)
8 NC A&T- all black-the other all black schools should be consolidated into this one and NC Central
9 UNC Greensboro- Completely Un-neccessary (worthless) if any school in the system were to be "promoted" to research university, it should be them, they're the closest
10 Appalachian State- Hey, the hippies have to go somewhere (good) [i]admission academics aren't that far off our own, regional, highly ranked public south, leave it
11 Western Carolina- Despite its small size, it is actually pretty technology heavy, and its a very nice school (good) a rival for ECU????
12 UNC-Asheville- Very small/quaint liberal arts school, Its cool just for the novelty (good) one of the top publics in the south, i'd also add that their average verbal SAT is higher than ours
13 UNC Wilmigton- All the rich preppy kids had to go to the beach, and they werent quite good enough for unc, yet too good for ECU, so they serve some purpose I suppose (keep) one of the top publics in the south
14 UNC Pembroke- This is a fucking Joke (worthless)
15 UNC Charlotte- The ECU of the Piedmont (keep it) in my opinion a regional school, like the rest of the little ones, only that bloated to the size of a research school, close it/scale it back
16 NC School of the Arts- Very Small, Very Gay (worthless) specialty school, it honestly disappoints me that it's not held in higher regards since it is so focused to a set of disciplines. and the graduation rates IIRC are dismal. should be forced to improve standing or close down. appropriations redirected to UNC & ECU.

and FYI, according to northcarolina.edu, [i]all of the minority schools you listed are more "integrated" than State except for NCCU and A&T.
