there is no difference between right or left, democrat or republican, they are just two sides of the same coin, illusions that you have a choice, that you have a vote, but in the end babylon sits back and has a laugh at everyone

Despite possible setbacks in the coming election, I think it's clear that the writing is on the wall for the left. What selling points do they have this election season? Most of their platforms that at first appeal to the common citizen come with large tax costs, and eventually the taxpayer will see that this is true. Why will people vote for them? well, the left has successfully demonized bush and made it seem that we are weak in the face of setbacks that no politician could control (iraq insurgents, katrina, ect), but yet the left constantly pins on bush. now, in two years, when the people begin to see that this ideology is BANKRUPT, morally, ideologically, fiscally. voters will be driven back to conservatism, and hopefully this time we can invite another Reagan Revolution. What are the planks of the liberal platform that cant easily be pinned on bush.

environment: more restrictions on industry through measures such as the kyoto protocol which will deter efficiency and crash the very jobs liberals claim to want to "protect".
jobs: see "environment". also, liberals wish to simply give tax money for job growth (Winston Salem Dell plant). this tactic too ends in disaster, as pulling money from taxpayers is not the way to grow an economy, giving tax money back to spend is!
defense: the UN? leaving iraq now before the job is done? fewer "alarms"? no tough interrogation of imprisoned terror suspects? going by the geneva convention with terrorists? this should be obvious.
social security: more tax dollars for an obviously failing program.
healthcare: socialized medicine takes away ones fiscal freedom in choosing how they will be cared for. socialized programs are of low quality with no competition. this is a prescription for death.
welfare: more tax dollars for those who will not work. why do i need to explain this?

liberalism is a disillusion and a disease. it is almost bankrupt, and i welcome its demise.

yet another example of liberal futility, grab the extreme side of an argument (one that wasnt even presented) and attempt to use it to straw-man their opponent. what will take care of harmful chemicals? THE MARKET, not the government.

^noone proposes that, you fool. how about more taxes to help pay for that kid's quality schooling instead of sending him to the cesspools that are our public schools?

^WOULD PEOPLE BUY SOMETHING IF IT WOULD KILL THEM? i think not!

and the quality of living in europe, when you look at all factors, is in fact much worse. high unemployment, strict labor laws, union control of industries killing competition, socialized medicine in the larger countries leading to more deaths, mass deaths in every heat wave.

This is absolutely not true. If it had not been for EPA and FDA regulations there would still be uncontrolled discharage of hazardous materials into the environment simply for the reason that it is much cheaper. That is the market.

Would people buy something if it killed them? Hi, I'm a cigarette. Hi, I'm crack. Hi, I'm heroein.

maybe i dont have the economic knowhow of some posters on here, but i do understand what they say, and i know that what they say works from experience, from history. you liberals are constantly owned on these issues on here, and you continue to argue your liberal philosophy no differently in the fact of truth. sit and listen to lonesnark and others. you liberals get owned by his conservative economic truths daily and you never learn. i and others point out your hypocricy and ideological bankruptcy, and you still dont change. you'll never learn, and thats sad.

^you challenge: using examples, prove how strict regulations will improve our way of life here in the US. if you can do this, ill respect you and your ideology, but until then, its just bankrupt.

Randy's word of the day:
bankrupt:
use it when you really want to get across just how wrong someone else is.
For example:
"The idea that the EPA should help protect the environment is bankrupt."
"Labor unions are bankrupt and have done nothing to help the American worker."

looks like you're starting to get the idea. the strengthening of the EPA only leads to greater industrial regulations and unions cause more harm than help. they are, as you said, "bankrupt". youre learning, how nice!

My photo montage, because arguing against trolls is fun, too

"I'm a child worker from back before we had strict regulations on worker age. I'm probably just about to get my leg caught in this here machine"

"We're dead 14-18 year-old young women who jumped to our deaths rather than burn alive alive in our top-story textile mill in NYC. 140 others died, too! You see, our bosses locked the exits to make sure were weren't taking any breaks. Too bad there weren't any strict regulations on working conditions and fire exits!

"RAAAAR! I'm the octopus cartoonists of my day used to represent Standard Oil. Because of the lack strict government trust regulations men like Rockefeller, J.P. Morgan, Vanderbult, and Carnegie were able to establish near monopolies and rob the America blind! RAAAAR!"

"I'm a typical family car circa 1970. VROOOOM! I feature an unsafe design, terrible gas-milage, and awful emissions (including lead). Good thing the market changed everything without any strict regulations! It truly warmed my heart to see the people demanding that they pay extra for catalytic converters. Oh wait, it was the government that mandated safety regulations, CAFE standards, emission standards, and unleaded gasoline. My bust."

I could go on, but this is getting boring.

i think im biased since i saw the boom/bust of the steel industry myself through a friend here at school. i'm an environmentalist, but i still have a soft spot for the steel industry, if only b/c one of my good friend's father still cant find a job since the closing of his mill. then again, he's been an alcoholic since that day.

Randy, I'm willing to bet you've never converted anyone into being a conservative

You have, however, caused one Republican to jump ship. Congratulations.

In my opinion the "greater industrial regulations" are worth the price of a healthy environment. Thankfully, people who share your view are in the great, great minority on both sides of government.

Now as for the union comment... are you referring ONLY to the unions of today? Because the unions of last century (early) definetly caused more help than harm... or do you disagree?

WHOA, WHOA, WHOA. I've taken a break on the spelling thing because it got old. You're on point most of the time, but then BAM out of the blue, you come out with something crazy. EXPOSES?

I can see "Fascism exposes the economy to government control..." and "Fascism espouses government control of the economy..." but as you put it, no....

It's like you're some kinda genius or something who isn't used to having to express himself to other people.

but overall, a kickass post.
