^ Okay, so that was very intelligent.
I feel you, mostly, but I still don't understand the no red. When you don't wear red you really look like you forgot what day it was or something, like wearing swim trunks to a board meeting. 10/4/2006 3:24:29 PM |

well my theory is that by not wearing red i stand out more in the crowsd and im more likely to have old friends spot me at the tailgates. Also it just draws attention to yourself and thats always a good thing when attempting to pick up sluts. There's not a time of year that has more attractive & drunk sluts running around than at tailgates. Just because my number one priority isnt school spirit, doesn't make me a horrible person. 10/4/2006 3:30:34 PM |

okay heres the thing.
In the NFL the QB's can actually throw. Thats one thing i enjoy about it.
Heres the other thing.
I turned on my tv last Saturday.
On CBS it was Virginia beating Duke 30-0.
On ESPN it was Wisconsin beating Indiana 35-0.
On ESPN2 it was Tennesee beating Memphis 28-0.
College football is horrible except for the "big" games.
You know the ones where GT beats the shit out of VT but they actually score a few points.
Or like when Ohio State beats the shit out of Iowa but they actually score a few points. 10/4/2006 4:12:28 PM |

yea, but college is more exciting I think, they arent getting paid, they are just out there to play, and they have more passion. Sure the NFL has much better players, but they all get paid assloads of money, and they just to seem to have them same drive and passion about it. Kind of like my feelings about b-ball. The NBA just flat out sucks, its not exciting, you dont have the same level of passion, from players or fans, and most of the NBA players are a bunch of hoodlums getting paid millions of dollars. I just find college sports to be more down to earth, and overall more enjoyable to watch and get excited about

It was on at 3:30
And the GT-VT game was shitty too.
The argument that NFL players dont play with passion is stupid. Urlacher doesnt play with passion? Tomlinson doesnt play with passion? The guy who is only on the roster because he makes special teams tackles at the speed of light doesnt play with passion? If they dont play with passion they get CUT. Unlike other pro sports NFL players have very small amounts of guaranteed money.
Now in the NBA and MLB that argument stands up in some cases.... examples Vince Carter, Mike Olowakandi, Tim Thomas, Carl Pavano, etc
Quote : | "college is more exciting I think, they arent getting paid" |
And this is kinda silly too. Reggie Bush as a junior in college made more money than my dad makes a year as an executive officer. What about those fat checks our athletes get every couple of weeks? What about that free food they get everyday? What about the free housing they get every month? What about the free tickets that they get to the games that they often SELL to boosters? What about the exclusive facilities they get to use? What about the coaching they get? What about the free medical services they receive? What about the FREE TUITION? What about the free computer? What about the tutoring and advising they get? What about the special consideration many of the professors give them? What about the electronics (ipods, camcorders, etc)? What about the free shoes, merchandise, tickets, rings, awards, bookbags, clothes, etc they get? What about the whores they pull by being on the team? What about the exposure they get? What about the ensuing jobs they are able to get (some become coaches, some become local salesman based on their name/reputation as a former athlete, etc)
None of this even includes the money they get under the table.
If a 18 year old guy decided to forego college and workout on his own to make the NFL. Imagine how much he'd spend on rent, food, gym memberships, private coaching, hookers, merchandise, insurance & medical care, etc over the next 3-4 years.
He'd have to make $50k a year to live the "college experience". So if you ask me they get paid pretty damn well.

^^lol i was just wondering how long before the ncaa bans that.
before i ask this qustion i need to ask a pre question.
what is the type of song called that teams often play after a good offensive play? the war chant is usually played on d but most schools have a 2nd song they play after plays alot that nobody ever seems to talk about.
ncstate has one that i love and they used to always play but recently they almost never play it. ive heard it once in recent years. they played it at the bc game for like 5 seconds and nobody with me had heard it before
for miami its the beat to the song thats like "here i am...dont you want me here i am"
well i love clemsons and fsus but can never find them or find anyone who knows what i am talking about
some of them use actual songs but alot of schools have thier own thing.
(and no i am not talking about the red and white vs the fight song. this is more of a war chant type of thing.)

i thought that F$U was going to give them FSU t-shirts, and the reason why they did pay NCCU's band instead of just not sending a band was so that they could have the Warchant going during the game. what's going to be sad is when NCCU's band shows up our band. i mean i know that they are an HBCU, and most of the time people go to HBCU football games for the bands, and not for the football, but there's no reason that a school our size shouldn't be able to get 300 out of the 30k that go here, that played in their high school band, to be in the band here at State. i've been to Central for their homecoming a couple of times in the past, and it's very possible that they will show up our band. 10/5/2006 1:33:18 AM |

might . . . but hopefully not. WRAL changed their forcast:
Quote : | "Thursday: Partly sunny, warm and humid with a slight chance for and afternoon shower or thunderstorm. Highs in the mid-upper 80s. Our cold front will likely not move through the area until this evening. If you are heading to the Florida State/NCState battle this evening, we expect mostly cloudy skies during gametime with a small chance for rain. Kickoff temperatures will be in the low 70s, falling into the 60s during the game, so it shouldn't be too cool. Winds today variable at 5-10mph." |
