I am so displeased with the latency issues with this game now, it makes it right about unplayable. I had thought that the problems stemmed from graphics issues, but I'm convinced that's not it. I've lowered all of my settings, turned off all of the bells and whistles, and still the game chops like hell. It played surprisingly well BEFORE the patch. People on the TotalBF2142 forums are also convinced that something in the patch - probably the master server connect "fix" - is causing FPS to take a serious nosedive. I had thought that this might be limited to only Titan games (since that's 98% of what I play), but I got into a Conquest game on a 40-man server last night and it was still crapping out. This is just really, really annoying. I'd love to see a patch or hotfix, but I'm not holding my breath. Maybe if enough people bitch to Dice, something will get done... but probably not.

i noticed a lot of the titan servers restrict the movement of the titans to a certain point because at a certain point, the game lags everyone and the shit hits the fan. now, i would think that is due to poor programming and coding on the part of Dice and EA; cause it has nothing to do with the graphics settings of computers, etc. i guess some things will never change with this duo..ah well, maybe battlefield 4142 will be better

If I join a squad and there is no "order" issued, even a stale one, I leave. You can't get squad bonus points without the squad leader issuing orders, plain and simple. I usually just form my own squad and invite the whole team to join.

Not to mention how much a squad beacon helps on conquest maps (though the other squad upgrades are worthless).

No, no, the 1.10 patch. I've really only noticed this huge difference because my computer crapped out about 2 days before it was released. Since I've gotten it rebuilt and reinstalled everything, the difference in play quality is like a slap in the face. There is absolutely no difference in hardware OR software in my PC from before the time it conked out up to now, and I back up and reformat regularly enough to be a pro at it. I have all of the latest drivers, and there's nothing running to soak up resources while the game is being played. I've tweaked everything I can possibly check on to try to get more performance, but the FPS rate just plain sucks now. I was running the game very well at medium settings with 2x AA before the patch, so I thought lowering the settings might help. It didn't. The only conclusion I can come to is that it has something to do with network latency issues caused by fixes with the 1.10 patch. Hell, I'd gladly settle for an occasional master server disconnect if I could just get my good performance back.

how the fuck do you issue free form orders? (not ones issued by the commander and not movement ones?) the usual method of bringing up the sub menu for the command bit doesn't seem to do it...

Never issue a move command... there are no squad member bonus points. The only time I issue move is if I want my squad to go to a random spot to take out an enemy beacon that's been harassing the shit out of us (on conquest maps).
