The "personal attacks against you" are happening for a very rational reason. Its because you're making it personal. Instead of doing your job and making sure Classifieds posts abide by the posting guidelines, you've taken it upon yourself to make a whole new arbitrary set of rules of your own that you change at whim. You've deleted threads saying they were "against the rules" when no such rules existed other than in your head (see cdweller's posts). You've given people your poorly written, poorly thought out, and often belligerent "opinions" about the way a sales thread is progressing and threatened moderation when no problem exists in the first place. And I'm not even getting into the nasty PMs. (Those who've received them should take a screen shot and put them in this thread, from the ones I've seen it'll do nothing but bolster the case.)


I will continue posting in this thread, hoping that perhaps if it gets long enough the higher-ups will take notice and get rid of you. There's a good reason people are posting here rather than IMing you "shit you should do different" . . . . its because we think you have no business being a mod in the first place.

He doesn't have a rule stating that there should be no link to an EBay advertisement, and I did have whatever info I could gather on the auction. It's not a matter of getting flamed for me, it's a matter of getting it sold, and that's exactly what the thread accomplished.

I'd rather not post the PM sent to me describing why the thread was locked, due to the guidelines of the site overall stating that we ought not to post PMs with mods and so on, but it was in the nature of "I have had people bothering me about it, don't let it happen again, it's in the guidelines," etc. Considering it was 30 banana boxes of junk books, there was no way in hell my friend or I was going to go through and list each title/author/condition/ISBN, which is why there was an informative summary you can find in the link above.

I'm just picking at one little case here, but the one thing I can contribute is that I think it was unfairly locked by referring to an inadequate set of guidelines (which don't need to exist for any other forum due to proper administration to start with).

It sounds like things are being a bit too micromanaged. Less is more when it comes to classifieds moderation. The mod should be there in a break-glass-if-needed way imo...not jumping in every thread and telling then how to progress or else.

And I would think the actual deletion of posts and threads is what annoys people most (maybe outside of the PMs). People get pissed when stuff starts disappearing. If the thread is screwed up or spam or whatever, just lock it...set the example. Its also probably not a good idea to delete posts unless the thread creator requests it or they're goatse or some like crap like that.

^ Half of the "troll" posts he's deleting are HIS! As soon as people complain about his nasty and usually racist remarks he deletes all evidence that they were there. The "gay" comments deserve special mention (In particular I saw them all over one of garfus99's threads before he deleted them all).



The ones who are saying he's doing a good job seem to be those that haven't had to deal with him personally yet. It would help greatly if people weren't so afraid of retribution for posting "PMs received from a mod", because they really demonstrate this guy's issues better than anything else.

Honestly, how in the HELL did this kid even became a mod in the first place? Is he REALLY the best Classifieds can come up with?
