I watched that game. SJU was NOT good that year b/c I remember hoping that they would win some big games and they never really did. It was worse on TV than it was in the box score. I think we shot 500 3 pointers, then shot a few more when we proved that we couldnt make them that night. Hodge was garbage that game, and they street balled us to death. There were at least 2 inbounds passes that night that they threw off our backs and got easy buckets from.
I think thats the year they lost by like 50 to duke earlier in the year. The year after they lost all their players and were playing with some street ballin walkons. Tore us a new one.

the biggest play was easily the Costner 3 or the Fells Block which was nasttttttttttty
I dunno why they let Jenkins handle the ball he was terrible, Ingram had HOPS 12/29/2006 2:28:50 AM |

All the 3s by Costner in the 2nd half gave us the lead.
Anyone have video highlights? 12/29/2006 3:04:49 AM |

That's exactly what I was going to say. Whenever he has time and sets his feet it is a miss, he seems to shoot the best when its a reflex, quick three where he's off balance or on the run. Maybe he thinks about it too much otherwise and it throws off his shot.
That sucks about Ferguson, I knew something very bad was up when he wasn't even on the bench. Hopefully he can get his strength back quickly, we can't seem to get a break when it comes to depth issues.
Oh well, a W is a W, that's the second 'cardiac pack' finish we've had since our late run to top Wofford several weeks back.12/29/2006 3:32:37 AM |

I thought it was awesome how most of the fans show up right before halftime, and then leave before the game is over.

The one good thing about games being on ESPNU is that ESPN will have highlight video of the game, you can browse for it here http://broadband.espn.go.com/ivp/splash
Surprisingly in the recap the announcers were pretty kind to us noting all of our injuries and reiterating how important it is for us to win this stretch of home games if we want to maintain any chance of postseason play. 12/29/2006 12:22:51 PM |

Wow that was Mike Hall who won the ESPN DREAM JOB, if yall remember that show. They normally let go of those guys after their one year is up but they kept him. ESPN U is based out of charlotte so if any of you have any aspirations know that you can stay here and work and not have to go to CONN. Doug does late night ESPN Radio, i wonder why they were doing the game of all people? 12/29/2006 2:36:54 PM |

yeah i noticed it was mike hall and gotleib during the game. they kind of gave the whole network to hall when it first started, so i guess now they are trying to make him their number one play-by-play guy. 12/29/2006 3:21:50 PM |

I think hall is a fag. He kinda has a shit eating grin face and should be announcing the frikkin spelling bee. I was pissed when he won dream job. The runner up was a much better sports personality. 12/29/2006 4:23:15 PM |

I loved the fact that they were clearly oblivious to our 1974 Championship, but no less of an expert on the status and history of our program.
