^ To point out the idiocy of the idiots making a big deal out of this. Why was this even reported in national news like it was a big deal?

People constantly whine about how stupid our media is, but they still support them in their idiocy. If Obama has been beating kittens or cheating on his taxes, that would be news worthy, but the fact that he smokes is not.

Then just know that the concept of quitting when it comes to smoking is very vague. I'd be concerned if he said, "I'm not a smoker. I quit smoking a week ago. I am now nicotine-free." Cause it just doesn't work that way for most people.

If his wife says that he quit, it's because he did quit. But she knows and he knows that "quitting" isn't something you can be sure of at first. Most of my friends say stuff like, "I quit smoking! I've only had three in the past two weeks!" That's what quitting means to them.

Stop judging him and accusing of him ducking and dodging. Because he's not.

^^ Understood.

^ Smoking killed my grandfather, so the issue hits home for me. But if they made me king of the world today, I wouldn't ban it. People have to want to quit. I'm not judging Obama on his smoking--I wouldn't vote for him regardless. I would just like to see a definitive statement from Obama about his smoking--and I think a lot of other Americans would, too. In case you haven't noticed, smoking isn't exactly the most socially acceptable thing these days.

Is "I'm trying to quit" good enough for you?

^ To my knowledge, he hasn't actually said those words--and no, it's not.

So you want him to say, "I am not a smoker. I have quit smoking." So that when he caves and has another cigarette, you can make a big deal of it?

Go fuck yourself, bitch.

Don't send that kissy face my way.

You're a difficult prick. A wholly unlikable loser.

If you blew a kiss at me in person, I'd smack you.

Maybe she wouldn't refer to him as a "nonsmoker" because she was thinking of it in the Bill Hicks sense of the term.
