OK, I'm officially stumped on what the hell that thing is. It looks a lot like an Australian XB Falcon, but the rear window isn't pointed and the shape of the rear/taillamps is wrong. The shape of the rear window and roofline are almost identical to the Australian P5 LTD Brougham, but again, the tail isn't right. And I'm guessing that's a custom grille/headlights which doesn't help matters at all. All the characteristics of an Australian Ford of the early to mid 70's are there...but it seems not to be correct for any of them and the surrounding cars in the 2nd shot look mostly American...grrrrr.
The roofline is also very similar to the '70-'71 US Torino. But it ain't one of those for a variety of reasons.

Quote : | "Thanks to the person who posted these photos. The car in the photo was a 1971 Nova built by my father Randy Snyder who was a well known, regional and national award winning custom car and custom motorcycle builder based out of Syracuse NY. He passed away from cancer in 2001. Randy Snyder built the car for original owner Rick Benz in the mid 1980's. The car is currently in as-seen condition and is currently owned by an individual in New Jersey. The car is still driven daily and is accasionally shown in autoshows. It is a 1971 Nova. Tailights are dark maroon plexi with honeycomb backing. Original tailight vertical center bar is removed. All drip rails and trim on the car was removed and frenched. Rear bumper is 1968 camaro and has been shaved, filled and chromed. Front hood is louvered and combined with nose valence. Belly pans and returns are handmade/hand rolled steel. Front bumper, directionals and valence are from a 1970 Dodge Charger and are hand fitted, headlights are late model chevy van headlamps and the grille is (I forget - sorry). The top of the car was chopped and lowered and the back glass is original uncut, laid flat and frenched. All operable hardware was replaced with elecronics with remote. Motor and drivetrain have been removed and reworked since the movie, replaced with modern built motor, Tuned Port Injection and new trans. The car took many hundreds of hours to fabricate over the course of two years. Studio workers for Brian DePalma spotted the car at the Hershey Pa car show and cast it in the movie." |

Saab Sonett, more specifically a Sonett III. There's some dude who lives off of Peace Street who has one. I was surprised as all hell when I passed it while out for a run one day. Hadn't ever seen one in person before.
And I feel like I've been tricked on 48...I knew there was some customization going on but not to that level (the chopped top with flat glass is what really threw me).
