i let it download overnight, got up and played 1 game of slayer this am before work...i got 15 kills, 3rd place, i felt good about it being the very first game...

my first impressions are that it feels pretty well balanced, melee seems stronger (but then again it could feel balanced because nobody is amazing at it yet)

i'll be on playing all night tonight if anyone wants to make a party

Well I was... It took a while for me to download and I only got ~5 games in. The pregame lobby and loading screens took forever Hope that is not gonna be happening in the full release.

I did ok, I spent more time just walking around looking at stuff and testing weapons and such. The laser gun is badass, but I sucked with the timing on its shots. The sniper is pretty sweet too if you notice the night vision detail thing, but all of my headshots were delayed (i'm not sure if it was lag or my connection, but I would get a head shot, then they would run a few steps or jump, then die....)

The gravity seems heavier too...grenades need to be thrown a little higher than Halo 2 IMO

haha I get annoyed all the people who complain about the n00b combo or the sword or even rocket launcher....

Just play the game, if you really are a decent enough player those should not bother you that much. Esp. people who complain about the sword... if someone has a sword and you cannot kill them before they get near you.... you need practice

i've played halo1/2 alot and don't see how this combo is that extreme espicially considering the sword in halo2.

my favorite combo in Halo 1 was pistol/shotgun and in Halo 2 sword/battle rifle

^^The plamas pistol takes out the shield completely, not to mention it is somewhat tracking so it follows you a bit. Then all you need is one burst from the BR and you're dead. All you have to do is be able to see the player, release it, switch to the BR and get a shot or two off and it's a kill.

I mean of course after a while it's easy enough to get around, but it's just cheap and annoying, especially when you play a team and all of them are using it, it's rather annoying.

But oh well, I haven't seen anyone even attempting it yet, so that's good, maybe they weakened the plasma pistol, haha.

I wonder what the changes they added for Halo 3 that we arnt seeing yet are.

In the interviews they all seem to indicate alot more that hasnt been shown.

I was kind of disappointed in the film mode, because I had seen a preview of them actually moving the camera around the players and pausing, zooming in, etc....


And I honestly think this Beta is quite rough, they still have a shitload of work to do... But I am loving every minute of testing it out still!!!!!

The portable ubershield is fun as hell, won an oddball this morning because of it, as well as the portable launch pad, makes it easy to just hop the wall before the gate is open in high ground haha. So far I'm loving this game.

How do you use the beta invite from crackdown.

After you have downloaded the beta, how long do you have to play it? Do you need a gold account to play the beta?

^ on the main menu of crackdown, go to downloads, give it a few seconds and download/play halo 3 beta will show up, and pick that.

you can play till june 10th, and you do need a gold account
