Apparently Czajkowski is the front-runner from the spring game. And Nathan Franklin is the punter. Bradley Pierson looks good in practice so maybe he is battling too.
And please to let one kick and one punt....not do it all.5/1/2007 12:51:26 AM |

Extra hour of tailgating, boys and girls

^^really seems like it will give people an extra hour to get to their spots and set up. 4 hours was bad because that meant about 3 hours and 15 minutes of actual tailgating after initial setup, then you want to go into the game a few minutes early.....seems like the extra hour will help cover diehard fans setup time and walk-in time; actually giving them 4 full hours to tailgate. 5 hours is fine for 12, 1, 3:30 games, it will still piss some people off for night games though! 5/4/2007 9:58:15 AM |

A look at the ACC after the spring practices and predicting positions. Debate about making this it's own thread but decided not too. If someone else wants to go ahead, there's the link. http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/gatech/stories/2007/05/04/0506accspring.html

• Fall forecast: Sixth in Atlantic
WHAT WE LEARNED
There's a new sheriff in town. Tom O'Brien attended the Naval Academy. He became a commissioned officer in the Marine Corps. He graduated 90 percent of his players in 10 seasons at Boston College. In short, play time is over at State. "It took us about 13 [of spring 15] practices before the guys learned what our pace is," O'Brien said. ... No player has a job headed into fall camp. O'Brien didn't release a depth chart at the end of spring practice and told Wolfpack players every job was open. ... Neither of the top returning rushers — Toney Baker and Andre Brown — was the most impressive back of the spring. That honor went to Jamelle Eugene.
WHAT WE DIDN'T
Daniel Evans threw six touchdown passes and 11 interceptions last fall, leading to an open quarterback competition. Nebraska transfer Harrison Beck is among several others in the mix. "We just don't have a front-runner," O'Brien said. "The position is about making good decisions."... Will Mario Pressley be OK? The defensive end, who the 'Pack are counting on counting on, broke his big toe on the second day in pads. Coaches hope he'll be back to full strength this summer. ... How many nights' sleep will O'Brien lose between now and Sept. 8, when State travels to Boston College. O'Brien didn't leave BC on the best of terms. "That," he said, "is not going to be an easy trip."" |

A: Not this year. I would assume we could change things in another year.
Q: What about the pregame fireworks? Does that kind of entrance fit your persona?
A: It doesn't bother me. I think it's a thing we've heard in recruiting when kids have come here to watch games that they really like it. So we won't change it." |

Will there be any work on the stadium this year? One thing that they need to do is add seats at the top of the aisles in the upper decks. That could be around 3-5 more seats. There are 9 aisles in each of the upper decks, so going realistic and saying that three additional seats could be added at the top of each aisle, we'd have 54 more seats. If we could squeeze 5 more seats in at the top of each aisle then we'd have 90 more seats.
This would be a good old school pic if the two people weren't in it.
Ah, the 03 UVA game.
