Manning prolly won't commit until next week if he were indeed going to commit to nc state. I think he's at State's campus from Monday til Wednesday so u know state is going to roll out the red carpet for him
is it just me or is everybody else starting to get pumped a/b recruiting again? 6/19/2007 9:09:58 PM |

loooots of good vibes comin away from this camp. Supposedly Mr. Manning heard about Mr. Maddox's commitment before anyone else because Mr. Whitley(safety from Charest's school) called him and told him about it.
3 guys that would be GREAT to have right there 6/19/2007 10:07:02 PM |

i'm excited for the next few weeks. All kinds of story lines can play out.....just an example of a few:
1. Glennon/Charest will get an offer within the next 2 weeks........will they commit?? 2. Terrell Manning....Supposedly theres a connection b/t he, maddox and whitley....and he has been wanting to get into contact with maddox and vice-versa. His decision time is July-early august. Could it come earlier? He camps with us on June 26 3. Eddie Whitley, Butler Safety, was at camp today but didnt workout.....but he still showed up. He's goin back to VT once, and then comin back to State on an unofficialy before he makes his decision this summer. Will he commit?? 4. Not to mention every other recruit that we're after....who knows what could happen.
Fun times are ahead 6/20/2007 12:22:53 AM |

^ yeah, thats ridiculous....just insane. Texas' is just as nasty.....USC has 7 commits and 5 of them are 4* or higher.
I mean....here we are clammoring over a 3* linebacker, and for those schools....he would be an afterthought. its just crazy 6/20/2007 12:38:13 AM |

another thing about maddox i just noticed.....
before committing to us, he was listed as the #22 MLB on Scout....now hes the #18 MLB on scout. I also noticed his offers: Alabama, Clemson, ECU, North Carolina, South Carolina. Pretty good 6/20/2007 12:49:05 AM |

We have offered a lot of scholys already so far. 33 if i'm correct. All of last year we only offered 26. But some crazy number like 21-22 of the 26 accepted. Hope we get those kind of numbers for 08'. 6/20/2007 7:41:26 AM |

could really use this guy, Jacob Charest...ranked #11 QB in the nation and Whitley and other teammates were at the camp who are also considering the Pack. Charest talks great about the wolfpack.

Yeah I've noticed that we have some pretty solid 3-4 Star QB's with us on their list with a lot of other big name schools and we're the only team not offering.
Any idea why we're slow to offer these guys? I mean our QB situation isn't looking too good at this point. 6/21/2007 7:02:04 AM |

our staff has told all QB's we will not offer anyone until all QB's have had a chance to attend our camp. Our last camp ends next wednesday, so any offers will most likely be made thursday. Everyone knows this and is fine with it. 6/21/2007 7:10:33 AM |

it seems like they are very impressed with the drills and evaluations they are put through in the camp. some have said that they had never done drills like that and that it seemed like the staff really knew how to evaluate a quarterback.
not only that, but it just seems like really good psychological move as well. if we put out offers to every top qb out there, i don't know that any of them would be as interested in us. the way o'brien is doing things, he wants to have a chance to evaluate each prospect and then he only offers the best however many he can take. that's also due in part to the fact that he has said when a recruit commits that he is committed to them as well, so he wouldn't offer 4 qb's if he knew he could only take on 1 or 2.
this definitely seems like it will help us land some top qb's over the years, but even more important than that it will ensure that the staff knows exactly what they're getting when they do bring in a qb. so even if we miss out on 4 or 5 star rated recruits, we will know that whoever they bring in will more than likely be a solid qb. 6/21/2007 12:46:47 PM |

There are certain parts of our campus that are nice. Most of them being on the eastern side of North Campus. Court of the Carolinas, the area around the Strolling Professor, the green space in front of the Mary Anne Foxxe Teaching Labs, the area around Pullen Drive, that courtyard close to Watagua Hall, etc. I love our campus. I like how above the main entrances to the buildings on Stinson Drive, aka Engineering Row, have sculptures pertaining to the different engineering departments housed there. One of my favorite things to do when I was in school was whenever I'd get off the Wolfline at the D.H. Hill stop in the morning, come down the hill and walk over and look at the plaque dedicated to the 1983 basketball team that sits in front of the flag pole. 6/22/2007 12:06:49 AM |

you have to take a step back and take our campus in as a whole to realize its beauty. There is so much to it, and so much being done to it that takes away from its beauty. The beauty is in its simplicity(except for harrelson, thats just a shit ugly building). 6/22/2007 1:03:22 AM |

seriously, why are we talking about campus appearance, USC is in the absolute slums of LA, but I think that little ole fact that they have lost 3 games in 4 years might trump that. Campus appearance is something recruits talk about to get reporters off their back or to change the subject. Otherwise everyone would go to Stanford. 6/22/2007 1:16:26 AM |

our campus isnt as bad as some people make it out to be. Sure, there could be more trees and shit could be spread out but its really damn close to downtown raleigh.
The only people that say our campus is ugly are hole fans. Now the train track fucks us up, but for the most part its not that bad. Chapel Hill isnt even that nice. If you want to talk nice campuses lets go to VT...or some private schools in california. 6/22/2007 8:05:52 AM |

Okay this may have been answered already, so IM guessing Ill have to wait until the 2008 season to see a full spectrum of O'Brien only recruits...Im just asking b/c Im wondering when is the last year b4 all of Amato's people who are currently on teh team are gone? Im guessing it would be with Andre Brown's class?? Am I right on this...someone correct me cause Im curious? 6/22/2007 8:00:21 PM |

That's what we need, these guys to have a friendship coming in and wanting to play together, it only helps the team chemistry.
Also getting these early solid recruits will only help in recruiting. If we were to get Charest(4-Star QB) and Barnes(5-Star ATH), we could use them to recruit for us on offense and use Maddox(3-Star MLB) and Manning(4-Star WLB) to help us recruit on defense. 6/23/2007 1:52:28 PM |
