a lot of cheating went on thats why they reset it. in fact cod3 needs to be reset because of 'point matches' which all players lay down beside their own flag and 1 enemy comes over and captures and drops the flag in the team repeatedly and you all end up with like 1000 points per game. the rankings are so fucking skewed because of the cheating glitch it is ridiculous.

Nope, you probably don't remember it because about a week after it got released, nobody cared. Compared to what the PC had to offer, Halo was the suck.

You guys who say that Dual Analog is better than a mouse make me laugh inside. You are just as bad as the guys I played Quake 2 against in high school that thought that straithing was stupid and unnecessary. They forcibly kicked me off their server after 2 matches (they were that bad).

I didn't read the entire thread so please excuse the repeat info:

The jump from x-box to the x-box 360 wasn't impressive enough for me to warrant a purchase. Graphics on most current x-box games were achieved a few years prior on PCs. I think I'll leapfrog the current console generation and get by with just my PC.

1) I have an x-box 360 controller for my PC - so no more barriers when it comes to games that I would have only bought for a console because of a complicated/heavy control scheme.

2) I can patch my games and download/play mods for free.

3) The graphics card I am using was under $100. It runs everything I've thrown at it. It may not be in 1600x900 resolution with 16xAA but they run fine and aren't ugly.

4) The majority of games that come out on a console that I want to play are also available on the PC. The initial price point for the PC version is usually $39.99. A good $20 cheaper than the initial price point for console games.

I guess that's one of the reasons why I'm content with where I'm at... there really isn't anything 'missing' from my current setup. Graphical update? That's not enough to make me bite right now. Maybe the next, next gen consoles will have a large enough graphics update to make me consider, but then it will just be more of the same but with more photo realistic graphics.

its not all about graphics with me. there are loads of games coming out that i will enjoy that you cannot. downlable content that i can enjoy and you cannot. a multimedia outlet that serves its purpose, although its nothing that most people don't have anyway. graphics are ALWAYS what the console/pc arguments comes to with i think is literally a dump because otherwise there rally is no other sound argument that can be raised.


there has to be something missing from your set up. you said that this gen does not warrant you to abandon you set-up. has to be something that you want to upgrade, and that is what is missing.

nah man the way to go is to take note of all the popular games, and then 2-3 years later actually get them. I've done that for countless video games, like the hitman series, splinter cell, and others. The only PC games I got on launch were the HL-2 collection and Battlefield 2. Actually I'm debating picking up a NEW copy of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory for about $6. Of course you could always just torrent it i guess...

you can adequately play other games with a console controller but you would get creamed by someone of equal experience/skill who is using a mouse/kboard

ahhhhh, i love my sensitivity adjustable on the fly mouse... low for sniping, higher for normal fps action, very high for vehicles and such thusly i never have to alter the amount i move the mouse to achieve the desired effect at any range... that and greater than pixel accuracy (as well as having more pixels to see you with) = pwnage

go ahead and get a controller adapter for a computer and get bf2.... don't forget to use your TV too...
