I was amazed through most of the movie how constant the laughs were, I felt like all I was doing was laughing through most of this and it wasn't because there was no setup. I think what got me towards the end was not that it was dragging per se, but that I really felt uncomfortable when they spent waaay too long at that dodgey party and I dunno I was just uncomfortable with the whole "hanging out with cops" things after awhile. I thought it picked up again once they finally got to the party. I thought the funniest scenes were when Evan "sang" "These Eyes" and when he got into the bedroom with his girl.

seth rogen and his longtime friend (director) wrote this movie when he was like 14

The funny part was when they got the exiting theater to halt to watch pictures of penises. FAGS

^ I doubt people stayed specifically to watch penises. In my case, I waited around to see if there was anything at the end of the credits. This is the type of movie that often includes an extra scene for the people patient enough to wait through the credits

Evan Goldberg was a co-writer along with Seth Rogen, but he did not direct the movie. It was directed by Greg Mottola

^ I read somewhere that Seth and Evan just liked the title. They encouraged people to not try to find any significant meaning in it because there is none.

it was definitely disappointing.

fogel was an annoying ass character. i couldn't stand most of the scenes he was in.

cera was decent, but not nearly as good as george michael.

i'm glad i only paid 5.50. any more and i would've felt ripped off.

Saw it last night at Raleigh Grande.

A little slow in a few areas, but I thought it was real good.

Got to love the casting and seeing that Apatow continues to nail down what it was really like in high school.

If thats one of the best lines ever on AD, then no wonder it was canceled.

^^ this is why highschoolers don't get michael cera

i'd have michael cera's babies

they'd be awkwardly adorable

or something

when it's late at night i double-space PHRASES

"You stay on top of her, buddy. Do not be afraid to ride her. Hard."

I am hardly a high schooler. I just failed to laugh or even crack a smirk at the link you posted. And like I said, if thats the best AD had to offer, it deserved to be canceled. However, this one you posted, was very funny. http://youtube.com/watch?v=6j4zD5XsQb0

Atleast to me, but what do I know. I am going to Netflix this show, not based on the link you said was the funniest, but because of the one I posted. I had heard some good things about the show, but the fact that it got canceled made me wonder. But after that one small clip, I might be hooked for a few eps.

it doesn't really take off until four or five in, when there's a backlog of material to build the continuity jokes on

Thought this movie was a little overrated.

definitly laughed a lot, but overall the scenes were hit and miss.

if it wasn't for McLovin and the police scenes I dont think I would have enjoyed this movie near as much as I did.

and if you assume i dont understand Michael Cera then take a seat b/c i watched AD.

I think this movie was just too hyped up for me that I was let down.

ok, "best line ever" is an overstatement, and that scene overall was not particularly strong. But I was referring to Michael Cera's delivery of the "we can't have kids, it's not even an option" line, which was pitch-perfect as far as comedic timing and inflection and everything. And, of course, to "get" that line, you would have to know that his character (George Michael) is in love with his cousin, Maybe, who is standing beside him, and nobody else in the family knows it, so when his father says "when george michael and Maybe have kids", George Michael thinks he is talking about them having kids together. So, if you don't know the backstory, then yes, that scene and line makes no sense.

i agree that this movie was so hyped that i expected it to be the best thing ever

i want to watch it again when i can concentrate more on the movie. i watched it at mission valley the day before school started and didn't expect the outpour of freshmen. in fact i've never seen a line that long at mission valley

and this movie was sporadic laughs a second in some parts and lull you to sleep in other parts

knocked up is still my favorite movie of the summer
