Just happened in Texas

Two black dudes walk into a bank that is in a white neighborhood

one black dude was buying a car from the other(got a 17k cashier's check)
They started chit chatting with a Loan Officer, all is ok right? NOT!
A white teller calls 911 saying that they are being robbed by two black guys and she thinks one has a gun.
Police come, get the black guys, put them on the ground pointing guns at them for 30 minutes(nobody from the bank came out to say they werent robbing the bank).
One of the black guys wife was in the car with baby, police auto assumed she was the get away driver, handcuffed her and put her in the police car.

The only reason the teller(two of them actually called 911) called is because these guys were black and there customers arent black. So, they have hired attornies and will get tons of money. What is shocking is nobody came out of the bank(the loan officer that they were working with) to tell the police they werent robbing the bank, so they were on the ground for 30 minutes with guns pointing at them, if they moved wrong they would of gotten shot.

Where the hell is Al Sharpton? The radio stations around here are wondering why he isnt already here.

i will agree that attempted murder might not have been warranted, depending on the circumstances of the beating - which are still in debate

but, i still fail to see what crime the beaten white student committed, and even what crime the white students that hung the noose committed

People don't understand what a hate crime is. Someone can't specifically be charged with "a hate crime." If I hang a noose, I can't be charged with "a hate crime."

A hate crime is an upgraded charge that can be applied onto a crime. For example, if I murder someone of a different race, and it comes out that it was racially motivated, I can be charged with murder and that can be upgraded to a murder with an attached hate crime. It simply increases the charge.

If hanging a noose on a tree does not fall under any law, they CANNOT be charged with a hate crime.
