Then the girl is retarded. There's a difference between holding a grudge and just being ragingly mad. The anger is caused form the incident and should dissipate with time. All decent humans should know that when they're mad they shouldn't try and resolve issues. I will tell him I don't want to talk about it while I'm upset.

When I hold a grudge I've gotten over that initial anger but it's still unresolved and it is easy to get me started. Usually the guy is being a dick and has total disregard for how I feel about the situation. If he apologizes or we reach level ground where we can at least understand eachother's side then the issue will float away.

But if I've given you plenty of times to resolve it and be sincere about the issue (even held a meeting between the two of us for that purpose alone) and you still can't manage it, I have a right to hold a grudge. 'Cause that's basically a assholish move on your part.

sometimes its not about holding grudges. sometimes a person can do something really assholish or immature and you can never look at them the same way again, because all you can think about is if that person was such a big jerk, or sucked so much one time, it will probably happen again.

i guess it depends on what happens. i took one of my ex's on a ski trip with my family. we had been dating for 6 months and everything had been smooth sailing. well on the trip, he was so shy that he wouldn't talk to anyone, so i tried to joke around with him. later when we were alone he freaked out on me for joking with him in front of my family and "making him feel stupid" or something. (i was just trying to bring him out of his shell). anyway, after that i realized that he was never gonna make it anywhere in life if he couldn't even get along with my family. i think he finally moved outta his moms basement recently....

its not that i was mad at him, or even holding a grudge. its just that his actions and attitude made me realize that he wasn't what i was looking for, and my feelings changed for him.

I don't understand why girls bitch constantly - then look for someone to feel sorry for them, but never stop whining even when they do.... it just adds fuel to the fire. I guess this is why most of my girlfriends are 30+ or men....
