I understand where you're coming from, but it isn't fair that the 6 black kids had to go through all those incidents of hate, being the minority by a long shot in that town, without the law, or anyone with any authority on their side. The situation should have been squashed long before the LAST fight where the black kids were arrested happened. Plus, why would you charge 6 KIDS who gotin a school fight with attempted murder? i don't think anyone is disputing that the attempted murder charges aren't possibly outlandish - the only way i can see the charge applying is if the fight would have continued further to the point of murder unless it was forcibly stopped - then keep the charge and let the jury decide - it's hard to not classify the indicdent as a hate crime - because they were responding to a hate crime with violence

the issue definitely should have been squashed prior to this and the kids that were responsible for the nooses should meet punishment

regardless of everything prior - there was an act of violence and it should be dealt with - i have a problem with the whole free jena 6 part - i

Apparently some of you dont take the time to read...the 6 Blk kids 'deserved' some type of punishment b/c it's never OK to eat up someone for whatever reason, unless it's self-defense or your life is is in danger.

With that being said, Race was NOT brought into the case until the three nooses(however you spell it) were hung....secondly THIS WHOLE THING SHOULD OF NEVER GOT TO THIS POINT to begin with! At this high school, there apparently was a section in a courtyard, known as the "White Tree" where only whites were allowed to sit at during lunch time, an African American kid wanted asked a teacher if it was ok to sit in this area for lunch, the teacher said yes..the massive group of white students wre not ok with it..the next day comes the three nooses(check spelling). The principal of the school called the superintendent of the school district b/c she was going to expel the individuals who hung the nooses, as well as the 6 blk kids who beat up the white kid.

The Superintendent's response was "It's just a regular prank that kids play these days, dont blow it out of proportion".......WTF school district has a leader who makes such a dumb ass remark. As an administrator, and someone who use to intern in the Juvenile Justice Office in Wake County Courthouse, all parties involved should of been expelled, the individuals then should of been made to meet with parents and all, and realize that if you do something as hang nooses on public property then you better realize what type of emotions that action will provoke.

Third, in this town of 3,000 Jena residents, 90% white population and 10% everything else....in such a racially heated case to begin with why were all 55 jurors selected to be on this case white. THe prosecutors should of selected 5 whites for the jury and 5 minorities! Hello, a light bulb should go off in people's heads that maybe if the teachers and administrators had forced the town to look at why all of this was able to get to a boiling point we would not be having this discussion in the first place!

If that was my son or daughter who had wanted to sit at the "White tree"..I still cant fucking believe they have a spot called the "White Tree" at a public school in the U.S...I would be mad as hell if I was one of their parents, and if I was a parent of one of the Blk kids who beat that one white kid...well first after the school's punishment, then they would of received 'my punishment' which would of been worse, adn then I would of made them personally go to the house of the white kid's parents and apologize to him and I would make my child do volunteer work at the school for a month. You have to nip crap in the butt before it gets out of hand, and I blame the parents in Jena, the teachers, that dumb as Jena Superintendant for not doing there job in handiling this manner in the level of professionalism/cultural sensitivity that it should of had in the first place! Yes, I'm wearing something Black for this reason and this reason only.
