So do you think Webber help the Warriors?

I think he'll actually help their interior defense even though he cant guard a chair. He'll enjoy being able to work the high post. Nelson will figure out how to get the most out of his skills. I'm just scared that his inability to run will slow them down, which will hur their chances of winning.

I think the Warriors will be all right with Webber. They just can't afford Stephen Jackson or Baron Davis to get hurt. Other than that, the Warriors will be dangerous come playoff time again.

Two weeks ago I thought KG was going to win the MVP easily. But if I had a vote, I'd vote for LeBron James and I wouldn't even have to think about it. Anybody notice the season he is having? He's improved in every aspect of his game. He really has lived up to all the hype.

I think signing Webber was a really good move. The Warriors probably have the least "size" of anyone in the league...absolutely no depth. And with signing Webber they didn't have to get rid of anyone to him. He passes and finishes well. He's not going to vastly improve them...but he's a really good addition.

^Webber possesses size, but doesn't use it. He's a PF sized guy who's favorite thing to do is shoot fadeaways from the elbow. He's not going to aggressively rebound or block shots. I think he really brings nothing to the table that a younger, perhaps improving player could do in those same minutes.

webber is old but last year with detroit he had some solid contributions...he is way past his prime of being a starter who can play 35-40 minutes a night, but he can be a very solid backup...he did well in detroit last year but detroit also had more front court depth so webber wasnt forced to play too many minutes

He's able to guard bigs....not very well. But he'll definitely do a better job guarding a true center than just about anybody on GS's roster. He's one of the most skilled big guys to ever play. He's 34 on two bad news. But he was an incredible player in his prime. He will also rebound better than given credit.

Chris Paul is interesting for mvp. Obviously his team is having a great year and he's the leader. I'd argue that his team (around him) is much better than what Lebron has. Lebron has been much better this season about clutch free throws. his percentage could still go up. But you're right. one could argue either way.

What the Lakers do for the next month or so while Bynum is still out will be very telling about both the teams postseason chances, as well as Kobe's MVP chances, because with a healthy Bynum he was also in the discussion...a week or two ago I read a stat where the Lakers this season were like 9-1 when Kobe scored LESS than 20 points and they've also had multiple games this season where they had 2 or 3 20+ point scorers, and Kobe wasn't even one of them

The thing about the West this year....is that the Spurs could play "average" for the rest of the year and possibly miss the playoffs.

- They are 5-5 in their last 10 games
- They are about to go on their big road trip. (I honestly think this will define their seasons. They usually go on this road trip and perform really well and end the regular season playing their best basketball. But if they struggle on this road trip, look for them to possibly miss the playoffs)
- They have played a pretty easy schedule so far. They have one of the toughest schedules the 2nd half of the season...so it isn't going to get any easier.
- They haven't beat a "good" team since Denver over a month and a half ago (the Bynum-less Lakers don't count).

I know it's just dumb to bet against the Spurs...but this is the most vulnerable they've looked in the past 5 or 6 years. And the West is RIDICULOUSLY loaded. You slip up just a little bit, next thing you know you're in the 10th slot (look at the Jazz this year as an example).

As good as the playoffs were last year in the Western Conference...this year is should be amazing.

a couple of their losses early on were when they were missing either Duncan, Parker or Ginobli as they've all missed a few games at different parts of the season...its just hard to imagine the defending champs and the best team in the NBA over the last 10 years would miss the playoffs when they still have their big 3...and don't let their current 5th seed fool you...its just cause they're in 3rd place in the best division in the league

I'm not disagreeing with you...I'm just saying they've looked more vulnerable this year than any year in the past...and the West has never been this strong before in teams 1 thru 10.

And those injuries you speak of could still be occurring throughout the rest of the year. Ankle twist here, back spasm there...they aren't a deep team. I personally wouldn't bet against them making the playoffs, but I wouldn't call someone an idiot for doing it...and wouldn't be surprised at all for them to finish in the bottom half of the playoff picture and suffer an early round exit. That being said, I also wouldn't be surprised to see them win it all.

The Cavs need a great shooter more than a great PG...LeBron handles the ball so much that a top flight PG is not a huge priority

They only signed Larry Hughes because Micheal Redd stayed with the Bucks...he would have been the perfect complement to LeBron. He needs a Redd or Ray Allen type player...even someone like Jason Richardson would be a huge upgrade over the type of play that Hughes has been giving them this year.
